Owner description: The karnak temple is one the distinguished identifying marks of Luxor in Egypt, where each of consecutive kings tried to make his temple most magnificent so as to be so distinguished than his predecessor, so the Karnak temples changed to a complete guide and collection showing the development stages of ancient Egyptian art and distinguished pharaonic architecture.

This is incredible. Having visited ancient sites in Athens and Sicily we expected to be similarly impressed but this blew us away. The Greeks would have seen this before building their temples! We went back for the sound and light show (not great at all) and really enjoyed being in the temple in the dark as well. Overall this was the highlight of the trip!

There is a lot to see and you need an Egyptologist guide to gain the best from your visit. The avenue of the sphinx is interesting and the tall columns are covered in hieroglyphics.
The heat is overwhelming and there isn't much shade. don't miss the opportunity to visit.

This temple goes on for ever and on a group trip you only see some of it which leaves you wanting more. The light and sound show not worth the price (£22) as the voice over done by Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor goodness knows how long ago.
