There's nothing there! I costs 60LE to visit 1 room with 1 human, cat, duck, baby crocodile and a lamb mummies accompanied by a few mummification instruments. You could take it all in and be back out in 5 mins. There were more security personel than artifacts.

The first time I visited the museum was 10 years ago it was fascinating but small. I went back recently and unfortunately there was building work so some buts were inaxesable but what I saw was again fascinating! Down side for me security and staff make you feel as welcome as Mossad in a mosque!

If you prefer (as I do) small or medium size museums over big ones, this one will give you just enough information to keep you interested and maybe impel to learn more about mummification. Ticket is overpriced for foreigners, but this is common in Egypt (as always "special price for you, my friend" :). Taking photos is not allowed inside the museum.

This is a small room with very little worth seeing when I viewed it. It is not worth the 60 LE full prices or even the 30 LE student price and is a complete rip off.
You might forget this advice as I did and think there is something there that you might l learn about the mummification process or something unique, there was nothing to learn or see, however if you want to say that you have 'been there' then go at all means for the 2 minutes it will take you walk through the place.
