Although most of the people have had to leave their homes in Qurna village, they have moved to new houses in New Qurna but although the buildings are better built, the toilets are still - 'holes i the ground' with a water pipe next to it.The people are lovely and no matter how poor they might be,and whatever they have, they will share it with you. There is still a lot of rubbish and rubble about. The alabaster factories are numerous and depend on the tourist trade for money but, this is getting fewer and so times are hard for the people. It is still a place to be visited because of the history and its people,
