stayed here once and never again, i dont think the management were used to guests, at breakfast you had to ask for coffee and t,bgs which the waiters kept in their pockets, the hotel is situated bang in middle of evrything and staff so friendly, my biggest complaint the pool is used by ex pats, im afraid watching older ladies with younger men is not for me, take my advice give it a miss.

Room Tip: full of ex pats with their trophies:(

This was our second time at this hotel and we recommend it highly.

The room although slightly small was lovely and cool with very comfortable beds and a balcony with a great view of the Nile, pool and Hatshepsuit's Temple.

Service was excellent and the food was quite good (I have eaten a lot worse!) although the drinks are fairly expensive. This is not a major problem though as there is a fantastic pub (The Kings Head) over the road with an excellent menu and very reasonably priced drinks (check out the funny names of the cocktails!).

The pool and the surrounding area was fantastic, right next to the Nile.

We found that we slept very well in our room as although the hotel is next to the Nile it is not where the noisy cruise boats are (they can keep you awake all night).

We had a fantastic time here and can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a Nile view.

Stayed here with a tour so not sure of cost but was a really nice hotel. I think we were upgraded to a Nile view room as the hotel was so quite but the room was really nice and big, clean and comfortable. The hotel entrance is set back off the main street so it is quiter and not as much trouble when you leave until you hit the street.
Staff were nice and friendly and very helpful but breakfast was interesting. No one really to inform you of the process or advise you what to do. Was an omelete station but no one there and coffee was undrinkable. But the food was nice once you got it.
Is a few little shops next to the hotel where you can get water but dont get over charged. Water for locals is 2LE but to tourists it can be anything from 2.5LE to 10LE especially at the tourist sites. There is also an ATM that also does currency exchange in the hotel lobby which is really useful and gives and ok exchange rate. Otherwise there are banks around Luxor where you can change money but can take a while to get served.
Hotel was nice and in a good location but think it could be a bit pricey and so it didn't beat my wonderful hotel find on the West Bank.

Room Tip: Nile view if you can get it, give a great view of the pool, the West Bank and the mountains of the K...

Just a lovely hotel in Luxor, very chic and professionally run. Stayed here only one night, but would have enjoyed a week here without a doubt. Great breakfast and lunch buffet, professional staff and first-class service. And the hotel is lined with gorgeous marble! Amazing! I loved it here, and you will too. Book this hotel. It's worth your while.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room overlooking the River Nile.

For many years i go to the lotus hotel to get a swim, for years no problem, ofcource you need to buy an entrance ticket, but no problem for this. The swimmingpool staff is a bit slow.. But also no problem. But the management is for sure a problem. They just want local guest, but for sure not foreign guest anymore. Foreigners are really treaten bad here. Just go to an other hotel.

We stayed in a junior suite in the Lotus in March, all the staff were so helpful and friendly, the suite was quite large and clean, the bed huge, and the views superb.
The position of the hotel is ideal, set a little back from the main street and right on the bank of the Nile with easy access to boats. Captain Ahmed of the Tom and Gerry motor boat and felucca will look after you and collect you from the hotel riverside landing point. He is usually to be found near the Iberotel/sailing club.
Breakfast choice was varied and plentiful, no problems whatsoever. Evening meals not quite to our taste, but we only visited the restaurant twice, as we ate out in one of the many nearby restaurants in the evenings.
We will be returning as soon as we can. Regards and Best Wishes to all at the Lotus.
Jean & Kev.
