Great view of the Nile from all rooms. The hotel was located in a quieter section of town and was surrounded by good restaurants. The hotel has a fantastic pool area overlooking the Nile River and the general outlook of the hotel is great. Breakfast was good and the service was highly satisfactory.

Stunning views of the Nile from all rooms. All rooms have a balcony. Upgraded to a suite for an extra 100 English pounds. This Hotel is still used by the Police so is very very secure. Spotlessly clean and excellent chamber maids. Breakfast is buffet style and plenty of it. Pool area is fabulous clean and very well maintained, pool bar staff are excellent, Friendly & efficient. Location is very good but be prepared to be hassled by the Caleche (Horse & Cart Drivers) who will promise you a ride for 5 Egyptian pounds and then charge you Fifty or more - Take a taxi if you need to and always agree a price first. The hotel decor is a little dated but perfectly acceptable. Drinking Alcohol in the hotel bar is much more expensive than at the excellent pub across the road. Everyone wants to be your friend and will tell you how welcome you are in Luxor - nearly always they will have a Brother of Cousin who wants to sell you something - be careful firm and just say no. If you want to message me I will put you in touch with and excellent local tour company that will not rip you off and will keep you safe.

Room Tip: Suites are the best as you have 2 balconies.

If you can't stretch to on of the (supposedly) five star hotels this is your best options.
Nice rooms all with with a Nile view and the heated pool is lovely.
this hotel is let down by poor customer service, uninspired, disorganised breakfasts and the hotels policy to allow the notorious ladies of Luxor of Luxor, to bring their latest young egyptian lovers to use the pool for a charge. I have seen some shameful displays of heavy petty and beyond at this hotel,
In the interest of fairness,my vist to this hotel was last year now, so improvements could have been made

This is a value for money hotel, with balconies and views of the nile to die for.housekeeping is very good.the girls on reception are very friendly and helpful.breakfeast is buffet style, plenty and varied.
Made this booking through laterooms.com..The agents for this company are ahmed and adam. They collected us from our cruise at luxor docks, free of charge. There was no pressure in trip selling.hoever we did use ahmed and adam for a trip to the valley of the kings. Also they booked us a mini van for our journey to hurghada. Both were very efficient, informative and friendly.would strongly recommend you use these gentlemen etc..

Room Tip: Use adam and ahmed who represent laterooms.com for hotels in luxor

We stayed at the Lotus from 20th February to 20th March. We had a Junior Suite on the 4th floor on a B&B basis. Having been to Luxor on previous occasions and done a lot of sightseeing, this time we wanted a relaxing, poolside holiday with plenty of sunshine.
At Luxor airport arrivals there is a massive sign suspended from the ceiling which says that Visas cost 15 USDollars and having our 30 Dollars ready, went to one of the Bank kiosks and paid. At the Hotel we met people who had variously paid £10, £12 and £15.
We checked in and were taken to our suite and although it was rather dated we were very happy with it. A new fridge and flat screen TV were delivered while we were there. We had taken our own Tea and Coffee making facilities which we did not hide. We bought water, milk, beer and wine from shops on what we call the Restaurant Street. We brought these into the Hotel without problems but we did use our own eco bags.
Breakfast suited us fine. We had mixed omlettes, fresh fruit and toast. Every day we had a jug of hot water to make tea as and when we wanted it. I can understand people who would have liked a full English being disappointed. We didn't have any complaints with the way that the waiters looked after us at breakfast.
We were swimming in the heated pool every day and the weather was just as we wished. While some people were happy to lay in the sun most of the day we were happy to be in the shade of a parasol. We were delighted to find there was no music round the pool and very rarely children. We tried the Bar Snack Menu and were very happy with the quality and the price.
We had a couple of brief power cuts and fortunately we had phones with torches. For the first three weeks we had piping hot water throughout our stay but for the last week the hot water was tepid in the evening.
The balcony at night was to die for, with a floodlit view of the mountains across the Nile and we had room service dinner on a few evenings which was most enjoyable.
Most nights we ate out and although we tried several restaurants we always returned to Snobs for the ambience and the entire dining experience which surpassed all others.
Normally we cope quite well with the hassle outside the Hotel but this time there was an air of desperation among the traders and for the first time in Luxor we were reluctant to leave the Hotel. There are fewer and fewer tourists and to make matters worse Thomas Cook is discontinuing flights from Manchester to Luxor after April.
At the checkout at Luxor we were informed that we were 2 kilos over our allocated baggage allowance and were asked to pay £20. I am sure it was a scam. So we decided to open our cases and it eas easy to find 2 kilos which we put in our pockets. So no charge.
At the final security check we had a few 100ml bottles of wine and gin in a see through bag. This caused mayhem at the scanner and it was only after 15 minutes hassle and a demand to see the airport manager that we were allowed to proceed with our gin and wine intact.
All in all we had an excellent 4 weeks at the Lotus Hotel and we would certainly go again because it offered everything we wanted for a good value, relaxing, hassle free holiday. There were quite a few expats (ladies of a certain age!) who paid £5 a day to use the poolside facilities and they were a constant source of information on how best to enjoy Luxor.

Room Tip: Higher the better

We have just got back from yet another great holiday(4 weeks) in the lotus hotel-The hotel is situated right by the Nile-all rooms overlook the river with views of the west bank(stunning)The hotel is very clean-rooms cleaned daily by great staff-sheets and towels changed daily-swimming pool was heated-great-Located close to many restuaurants(within a few minutes walk)The staff are second to none right from reception to cleaners and gardeners -all are happy and very very helpful-I will be going back again next year .!!!
If the caleche drivers and taxi drivers are a bother just say politely no thank you-(la shokran) and walk away-but do smile-be happy its a wonderful country with lovely people who are just trying to feed their families.

Room Tip: lower number-higher floor for best view-but all are good
