Smashing place to stay and as a female travelling alone I felt very safe. Massud and Mannu made me very welcome and helped with everything, thanks very much.

I was staying in princess hotel. At once I wanted to stay 3 nights but finally I stayed 6 nights. The owners Emanuell (french lady) and her husband Massud was so so kind and hepfully. They also have a really nice staff, funny, smile always and arranged everything for you. I was alone to travel and they make me safety. They have really nice tour on the necropolis of ancient thebes and also a wonderfull air balloon trip for really cheap price.
The hotel is simple but they made everything new and all is really clean. the bathroom are the cleanest one I saw all over Egypt and you can eat from the floor.... so clean!!! and the bed are really comfortable.
The roof is so so amazing, quiet and relaxing. I took some rest, hear egyptian music and other music, smoked a chicha (water pipe), and drank good and fresh beers.
I really recommand this hotel to anyone who like to have contact with local people, You will not be desappointed.

Considering the cheap price, the hotel was better than expected. The room was basic but very clean, as was the bathroom. The staff were very friendly however were very pushy about us booking trips through them. We originally booked to stay there for 3 nights however the room was so noisy that we only stayed for one night as we got barely any sleep. There was constant noise from people and traffic, and we were woken up at 4.30am by the Call to Prayer which sounded like it was right outside our bedroom window!
Good budget option if you don't mind not getting a decent night's sleep!

  • Liked — the helpfulness of the staff

I had arrived from Cairo to Luxor soon bombarded by touts. I went with one to this Hotel. I found it to be out of the way, a little too much at first as everything I find exciting about Luxor is such a walk away and I do like to walk. The area where it rests does have some thriving restaurants and also there are plenty of Supermarkets in the area. My room was comfortable and the air-conditioning was good and the rooftop is a great place to chill out. I did later find out the kitchen is a free kitchen open to guest use, however I found eating breakfast unpleasant having to do battle with so many flies. They do however have excellent Sat-TV and Internet access and even their own cafe next door that is actually one of the cleanest and relaxing in Luxor. The aforementioned tout now a very good friend is as like all the staff very helpful when it comes to the best local Restuarants and he is a pleasant person always immaculately presented and should I feel be on reception. The rooftop is one of the best I have experienced as the hotel is situated in a nice quiet side street and once you appreciate where you are the location proves no problem. The rooftop is also a great place to take in the sun and you can do so undisturbed. The staff are the friendliest I have ever come across in any hotel and I mean sincerely so without any personal agender unlike some in other hotels who crave commission or additional baksheesh (tips). A very good hotel for those on a budget.

I spend two nights there in December 2006.
Friendly staff but too noisy to have a quiet sleep there. My bed fell apart, and the shared bathroom was very basic.
The price is about right for this kind of hotel but I can hardly recommend it.
