The hotel was not what we expected. The hotel was selected by a travel agent who put together a package deal for us. We were supposed to stay for two nights, but luckily our itinerary changed and we were only here for one. This was the most disapointing place we stayed in Egypt.

The breakfast was by far the worst of all the hotels. The bread was stale and the selection was limited. The hotel also was not clean. There were actually cigarette butts in the stairwell when we brought our luggage to our rooms.

The staff was pleasant, but we did have issues communicating. I certainly don't expect everyone who works at the hotel to speak English, but I would expect a certain level of fluency at the front desk in a hotel that caters to foreign guests (and most of us were from English speaking countries). The people who worked in the morning and afternoon were fluent enough, but from about 4pm on we had some major issues. Our family tried to call multiple times, but was not able to get connected to our room because the front desk couldn't understand them. It could be that we just hit the hotel on a bad shift, but it was a major inconvenience for our family.

If we were to go back to Luxor, we would definitely spend an extra twenty bucks and find a nicer place to stay.

This hotel was rather nice. The inside looks very grand and cozy. The staff was extremely friendly, the continental breakfast was lovely and the rooms were very comfortable.

One of the staff members set us up will an all day tour the one day. It cost us about 300 EP to go and was quite worth the money, even though we went to a few places that were a waste of time.

They have airport pick up, which we didn't realize, so take advantage of that! In all the hotel was very nice.

My only complaint would be the rooftop pool. It was nice, even though it looked onto the terrible neighborhood. But whenever we went up there later in the evening (5, or 6pm) it was always full of loud staff members who filled up the entire small pool, made a lot of noise, and had music blasting constantly. I felt it was really inappropriate.

We stayed at the Morris for one night on a package deal and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the hotel. The rooftop pool was a welcome relief after a long day of sightseeing in the sweltering heat.

Rooms were large and comfortable and had air conditioning, a fridge, a safe (though ours was locked & we didn't bother trying to get management to open it) and a balcony. Bathroom was clean and spacious, and we had no complaints with the towels.

The hotel had a large lobby consisting of series of lounge quarters which was a good hang out whilst waiting for pick ups etc. We had an evening pick up so ended up paying 30EGP each to use the pool after check out which was somewhat reasonable. Only problem was the pool area has no change room facilities.

Location was pretty good, a 15 minute walk to Luxor Temple and right across from a couple of convenience stores as well as coffee shops (for hubbly bubbly). Not sure about the restaurants in the area, but we stumbled across a couple of eateries within 10 minutes walk which had very cheap local food.

it is really nice, elegant and romantic place to be for couples and for families. it is convenient due to the fact that the hotel is a few hundred meters from the Luxor temple, so in the evenings from the beautiful terrace one can see the ruins under light. wonderful time we spent there this April.my husband and i . the rooms are spacious, very clean and beautifully decorated, the staff of the hotel, at the reception, room service, management were fantastic. we had free ride t the airport, also we came rather early and we were in our rooms right away. the poolside restaurant is in ethnic style while the other part of the hotel is elegant, some parts are like neoclassic 19 c. H. Poaro style.. a lot of marble, different colors, many pilasters give the hotel elegant looks. the breakfast was a buffet breakfast and it was plenty of. we had a lunch the first day, it was some congress at the hotel , we were really satisfied with the food, quality and service.
when we went to the airport at 5 am they gave us traveler lunch boxes and a driver to be driven to the airport. fantastic. i would certainly recommend this gem of Egypt as a nice family place to be. the water in the pool was clean and nice even at ten pm when i was there swimming with the stars above. i will never forget the filling of joy and happiness swimming in the night, stars above and a nice cup of tea waiting beside the pool

We spent very little time at this hotel, as we arrived on a late flight from Cairo and then work up about 4:30 the next morning for a hot air balloon in Luxor. So location-wise and service, I really can't comment too much on.

As far as the rooms, they were clean enough, this is your basic 3-star hotel. Very little amenity-wise in the bathroom, don't offer many toiletries (only soap), and the towels are thin. The shower curtain was not long enough so water got all over the floor.

The room had 2 bed, and really chunky furniture -- be careful getting up in the dark in the middle of the night! Also, I don't believe our room had air conditioning, at least it was really warm, but again, we were exhausted when we got in there and went straight to bed, so I'm not 100% sure.

We did not eat the breakfast buffet but did take a breakfast box which was very disappointing -- one piece of fruit and then all breads, rolls, pastries, just carbs.

If you're going with Sharm Excursions like we did, you'll probably be fine for one-night, especially if it's such a short time like for us, but I would not want to stay in this hotel for an extended period. Because I booked through a packager, I have no idea the cost of the room and if it's a good value. Perhaps if you're on a budget and the price is right, it would be an okay option.

After reading some reviews we were a little apprehensive of our stay at the Morris in Luxor! Well, we wre pleasantly surprised! The Hotel needed a good hoovering, but apart from that, we had a lovely time there! We had clean sheets and towels every day, and room tidied by very pleasant staff! The lift was working and the pool was clean and such a lovely view from the roof! All staff were friendly, and many thanks to Samy, who looked after all our Housekeeping needs always with a smile and a laugh! Also to Sayed, the manager of the restaurant ant pool bar, who was a delight, very proffesional, and nothing was too much trouble for him! Couldnt have wished for any better service from any of the big hotels. We would definately stay at the Morris on our next visit. I would reccommend this Hotel, and its staff to anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced hotel ! clean sheets and towels every day does it for me!

I first stayed at the Morris in March 2009, and was very impressed, but in less than a year the hotel has gone rapidly downhill. Sadly most of the staff have changed for the worse. My room was never cleaned in the 9 nights I was there, despite frequent complaints to reception. It was always promised but never happened.

The staff didn't seem to care. I asked to change rooms to have a balcony, never usually a problem in Egypt, but again this never happened despite there being many empty rooms available.
On one night a large tour group came and the place resembled a youth hostel with people shouting, screaming, slamming doors and running through the corridors for much of the night.

Last year the roof terrace was open for drinks and snacks but this time there wasn't a member of staff in sight. Probably because the lifts were out of order for the whole 10 days of our stay!

Breakfast was chaotic with alot of waiters rushing around but none of them apparently serving guests in any way. The drinks jugs weren't marked so you didn't know whether it was tea, coffee or milk. Drinks were overpriced ( eg a Stella was a third more expensive than the Luxor Hilton!) and the service was distinctly 'unEgyptian' (ie unhelpful). It felt more like European standards of service instead of the Egyptian service I've been used to over many years of visiting that country.

Quite frankly the manager at the Morris seems to have lost control of his hotel, or simply doesn't care. Either way it was hugely disappointing to return there after less than a year and see how it has declined so much in standard. In its present state I would classify it as a budget hotel with very low levels of service.
