EXPERIENCE
Our room appeared to be clean however when I went to bed on the first night I saw many hairs all over the mattress.
A male employee of the hotel kept harassing us for business, he saw us on the street and tried to talk business. This style of business is what you expect from one of the Felucca people on the street and not from a 4 star hotel employee!
When we paid for extra services such as the laundry service the hotel did not have any change and said they would give us the money that night. We actually had to remind them about the money the next morning and instead of being apologetic they were very rude.
The pool deck chairs were old and dirty.
The pool looks lovely but it was extremely cold and no one was swimming. However I'm sure during the hotter months the cold water is refreshing and much needed.
One staff member kept harassing us to book a massage when we were visiting the pool area.
The location is in a dirty area.
I generally stay in budget hotels and I can honestly say that I have stayed in some cheaper hotels that are much better then Morris Hotel in terms of cleanliness, service and quality.

Our family enjoyed our stay at the Morris very much, although we were very unimpressed with the men at the front desk. They were very rude and unhelpful. Luckily, Mohammed, who doesn't really work for the hotel according to the desk staff, helped us check in, make room arrangements and schedule activities. The wait staff were extremely friendly and professional and paid attention to our every need. The rooftop swimming pool was the perfect place to cool off and have a delicious poolside meal. It was a great family place and within walking distance of the souk, Luxor Temple and the Nile.

We stayed here for one night after our cruise ended. The lobby is pretty impressive but it ends there. As a couple, we were put in a room with two single beds that wouldn't push together, the tv had a childlock on it and no remote, the airconditioning didn't work, the bathroom had only one working light bulb and the room phone didn't work so we had to repeatedly go downstairs to get someone to come have a look at our room. Eight hours later and multiple trips to recpetion, a guy came and had a look, told us there was nothing he can do about the air-conditioning, there were no light bulbs in the hotel so we were stuck with a dark bathroom but he did give us a remote and fix the tv.

The roof pool is nice and has great views over the nile. Sadly didn't get to use it as one of the hotel employees kept harassing us to book a massage or visit the hotel shop and even followed us in to the lift to try and get to go to the shop and got quite angry when we didn't so we stayed away from the roof area.

The hotel is around a 15-20minute walk from Luxor and has a couple of shops opposite for water etc. There is also a local bar across the road that can get quite loud at night.

All in all, I wouldn't go back here. Our 3-star in Cairo was so much better than this '4-star'.

After looking for advice on this site for hotels in Luxor, i came across the Morris and it was not receiving good reviews (they were all very old reviews) our tour person advised us to stay there so we did. Really good, good value, good breakfasts, wifi in lobby free, nice views over the Nile from rooftop bar and pool, staff and security on door were great. If going to Luxor and you are looking for someone to organise things for you you MUST ask for Memo - ask at staion or around the place and people will know who he is - excellent source of information. Also Bar 2000 down the road great food and cold beer- Isaac is fantstic and the "friendly" restaurant next door (its name) has great Koftas.

The hotel was not what we expected. The hotel was selected by a travel agent who put together a package deal for us. We were supposed to stay for two nights, but luckily our itinerary changed and we were only here for one. This was the most disapointing place we stayed in Egypt.

The breakfast was by far the worst of all the hotels. The bread was stale and the selection was limited. The hotel also was not clean. There were actually cigarette butts in the stairwell when we brought our luggage to our rooms.

The staff was pleasant, but we did have issues communicating. I certainly don't expect everyone who works at the hotel to speak English, but I would expect a certain level of fluency at the front desk in a hotel that caters to foreign guests (and most of us were from English speaking countries). The people who worked in the morning and afternoon were fluent enough, but from about 4pm on we had some major issues. Our family tried to call multiple times, but was not able to get connected to our room because the front desk couldn't understand them. It could be that we just hit the hotel on a bad shift, but it was a major inconvenience for our family.

If we were to go back to Luxor, we would definitely spend an extra twenty bucks and find a nicer place to stay.

This hotel was rather nice. The inside looks very grand and cozy. The staff was extremely friendly, the continental breakfast was lovely and the rooms were very comfortable.

One of the staff members set us up will an all day tour the one day. It cost us about 300 EP to go and was quite worth the money, even though we went to a few places that were a waste of time.

They have airport pick up, which we didn't realize, so take advantage of that! In all the hotel was very nice.

My only complaint would be the rooftop pool. It was nice, even though it looked onto the terrible neighborhood. But whenever we went up there later in the evening (5, or 6pm) it was always full of loud staff members who filled up the entire small pool, made a lot of noise, and had music blasting constantly. I felt it was really inappropriate.

We stayed at the Morris for one night on a package deal and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the hotel. The rooftop pool was a welcome relief after a long day of sightseeing in the sweltering heat.

Rooms were large and comfortable and had air conditioning, a fridge, a safe (though ours was locked & we didn't bother trying to get management to open it) and a balcony. Bathroom was clean and spacious, and we had no complaints with the towels.

The hotel had a large lobby consisting of series of lounge quarters which was a good hang out whilst waiting for pick ups etc. We had an evening pick up so ended up paying 30EGP each to use the pool after check out which was somewhat reasonable. Only problem was the pool area has no change room facilities.

Location was pretty good, a 15 minute walk to Luxor Temple and right across from a couple of convenience stores as well as coffee shops (for hubbly bubbly). Not sure about the restaurants in the area, but we stumbled across a couple of eateries within 10 minutes walk which had very cheap local food.
