I’ve been on a hot air balloon ride in Turkey, so had something to compare this one to. I don’t know what the issue was, and it seemed the weather and winds were fine, but we barely got over the rooftops and didn’t ever get much of a view. Maybe they didn’t balance the weight very well. Disappointed.

We have been doing this every day for many years....
From the enchanted valley of Hatshepsut take-off point, you will float for a minimum of forty minutes, depending on wind conditions, over some of the most magnificent wonders of the ancient Egyptian world, enjoying a bird’s eye view of all the important landmarks of the West Bank. You surely admired the amazing architecture of Hatshepsut’s temple carved entirely from a cliff face. Did you look down upon the Mortuary Temples of Ramesses II and III – The Ramesseum and Medinet Habu- ? They are near the take off point.
As hot air balloons cannot be steered, each flight is a unique beautiful experience. Part of the magic is that it drifts with the wind and you never know exactly where you may land....
So the flight depends on the wind which is out of our control and every flight is affected differently: height, view, direction.... pretty much everything

To get into the basket, one must climb up the side and then jump in. To get out, even worse. Climb up interior and then jump (quite a distance) into wet mud (the staff did catch us if we needed catching). All in all, a good experience for a 25 year old gymnast.

And we never went very high, as we thought we would. In fact for much of the trip we were just above the growing sugar cane.

Hi there,
This is really not the case...hot-air ballooning is an amazing experience suitable for all ages, of course, in good physical conditions.
Besides working with tour companies that organize tours for senior guests only, we had the pleasure of receiving individual guests that, at the age of 80 years old and over, were so glad to have made their dream of floating in the air still possible. Great feelings...on both sides and we thank them all!

I'll preface this review by saying my balloon ride did get cancelled because of the wind. I booked through a third-party tour company, and they very quickly refunded my money. I completely understand that - for our safety - the balloon ride needed to be cancelled, but that is not the reason for my rating.

There was a complete lack of communication during the activity. We were told by the third-party that we'd be picked up at a certain time by the balloon company. While we were picked up on time, we were not told that we were the first stop of several pick-ups. Nobody in the car would speak to us when we got in. At one point, the car stopped in front of a shady alley (it was ~3:00AM) and one of the balloon representatives got out of the car and disappeared down the alley for 5 minutes. It felt super sketchy, but eventually the representative came back with more tourists. It would've been nice to have a heads up.

We were driven to two boats that were pretty much full by the time we arrived. My husband and I were told to go to the second boat. We received tea / coffee and a snack. On the first boat, we could hear the boat getting a safety briefing, but it wasn't loud enough for us to hear. Then, our boat got the safety briefing, but it was in Polish. Neither of us speak Polish, so we asked if we could get the English version and were told that we would get it. The captain came over and gave us a briefing that felt much shorter than the Polish version, but we figured it would be fine.

After the boat ride, all of the tourists got into shuttles. We were directed into one shuttle, and we were the only people in there for a while. Right before leaving, a bunch of tour guides and children got into the shuttle with us. We were the only tourists in the shuttle. Nobody tried to speak to us, even to let us know what was going on. Everyone was speaking and singing in Arabic, and the children were quite loud. It was a very weird experience.

We arrived in a field with several hot air balloon being set up, and several other tour groups. We stood in the field for 1.5 hours with no update from the guides - they all stood around with each other and weren't speaking to the tourists. The bathroom was in a nearby house, and you had to pay the family who lived there to use the bathroom. We started speaking to another group who felt the same about the experience. We also learned that they were on the boat who received the English safety briefing, and were told a number of things that we weren't told during our briefing (ex., the balloon would bounce and drag during landing). It was concerning that the captain didn't bother to repeat the safety briefing fully for us.

The balloon ride eventually got cancelled, and we got driven (in a shuttle with guides and children) to a local cafe to wait for our next tour. I'm sure if the balloon ride went through it would've been an amazing experience, but I think the company needs to focus on providing regular updates for its guests throughout the activity. Also, considering they kept saying the ride was cancelled for our safety (which I completely understand), I find it hard to believe that safety is their highest priority when I know I received a sub-par safety briefing.

Dear Idel,
You booked through a third-party tour company and still you were supposed to know what you were buying. You bought a group tour and obviously there would be other people with you on the transfer. Our direct customers receive a whole debrief of the excursion when they book and we specify that we are available to answer any further questions they may have.
As you mentioned, it happens very early in the morning and everyone has a role to play and still you would have received answers to your questions if you had any as when you asked for the briefing in English, which you would have received anyway before boarding if we had flown, no need to be concerned.
Sadly we didn’t fly that day and as soon as the CAA guys confirmed that, we advised you! And reimbursed everybody... Polish and English!
