This nine day trip up the Nile has left treasured memories of a lifetime. The dahabiya 'Abundance" is just beautiful, comfortable cabins and facilities, the BEST crew and our wonderful guide Salah. Our group of women had a wonderful time enjoying the fabulous local style food and along with all the side tours plus the lazy afternoons just drifting upstream. I even had a chance to swim in the Nile!! It was so exotic for us from New Zealand so far away and I didnt want it to end and could do it all over again. What a fabulous trip. For those not familiar with a dahabiya (and I was not either), it is a most comfortable way to visit the great sights of Egypt.. The double rooms come with comfortable twin beds and a private bath. You can open the windows wide with full views of the Nile and soft river breezes cool you at night. Or if it gets too hot, each room has a mini-split a/c. The crew was very attentive, and our cook was nothing short of five stars. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all cooked fresh and special requests were made to order. Captain Mohammed and our "Queen of the Nile" and gracious hostess, Johanna, made us feel like family. I especially enjoyed the leisure time. Reading a book, taking a nap or just gazing at the villages and sights as we sailed up the Nile was an experience of a lifetime.

I sailed the Nile with this group for 5 days and it was amazing! The best guide ever and the crew was splendid. The cook kept us healthy and well fed with amazing meals of local fare. The daily tours were out of this world. This boat was not huge and much more fun sailing for days than rushing in a day or two in a huge boat. I loved my time and my group of new friends. I would do it again in a minute!! Best vacation ever.
