I stayed at Crown Plaza in Nairobi for a week during a business trip.

The hotel is brand new end everybody is trying its best but I think that they are missing the tartget.

Although the facilities of the hotel including the rooms are very well and new it is still the 4star brother hotel of Intercontinental (5 Star). in my opinion as a business traveller they should be either cheaper than Intercontinental or better.

In fact they are as expensive as Interconental but they miss points in every comparison to Intercontinental services. Their biggest weakness is their restaurants offering and quality which are of much lower level than Intercontinental.

Other than that it is still a modern hotel with quality, located at Upper Hill, the heart of business activity in Nairobi.

By any standards the friendliness of the service in this hotel really stands out. From the gloriously welcoming Simon and Elizabeth on security to everyone on the front desk this was a hotel full of smiles. The food on the breakfast buffet was delicious and other meals were fine. The rooms are well equipped and amply proportioned. If there is one small quibble - there has to be really doesn't there? - it's that the swimming pool is a bit small. Not that I had the time to use it anyway.

I spent three nights at this hotel, and found it very comfortable and reasonably priced.
The staff were polite, professional and very helpful. Rooms were smart clean. Good TV service
(lots of movies), fast Wifi.

I would have no hesitation in recommending the Crowne plaza to friend and colleagues.

Room Tip: Standard rooms are very nice and quite spacious

This hotel offers everything I needed for staying in Kenya for business. They provided drivers (for a fee) to any destination I wanted to go as well as one waiting for me at the airport to take me to the hotel. The restraints afforded good choices for a number of meals and the staff was very accommodating to my requests. Security is top notch as they have all the necessary equient to ensure you feel safe.

If you stay on the club level, there is a lounge where meetings and other business is easily conducted. Internet access is fast and reliable.

Stayed here a couple of times in Feb coming in/out of Kenya and was pleasantly suprised at the quality of the rooms and service. Getting to the hotel from the airport was a mission but that was due to heavy traffic, upon arrival your car gets checked for bombs underneath before it's allowed into the hotel, you and your bags then get put through metal detectors before entering the lobby area. So you arrive feeling like these guys are taking care of their clients in terms of providing some security.

Check-in/out was fine, no complaints. Room was great, everything I needed, clean and modern, no complaints, Internet worked fine. Large comfortable bed in a spacious well lit room. Room service menu was varied enough and reasonable quality. Breakfast downstairs was pretty good, huge range of food available to satisfy all tastes.

The gym was amazing, huge and heaps of good quality equipment, a pleasant suprise it wasn't just a couple of tired machines as is often the case on the African continent.

Even squeezed in a pedicure with a very nice lady in the salon, good value, and she did a great job.

Would stay again happily.

The hotel staff were very helpful especially at the concierge. The reception staff, also helpful but abit too busy so you will stand there for a while waiting for your needs to be met. Although they do try to make you feel attended to, but it still takes a long time. Best is to ask for what you need and take a seat (there are seats on both the left and right sides of the reception along the bar and coffee lounge respectively.

The hotel is a favorite for company conferences and evening functions which means it is constantly busy with many people hovering around the reception, restaurants, bar and conference rooms.

The rooms are nice and the bed comfortable. I found the pillows too hard though. There is a nice touch of a nighttime spray / pack of aromatherapy which I did use and quite enjoyed.

The breakfast was alright, with a nice touch of freshly squeezed orange juice processed as you watch. The gym is well equipped and located right next to the breakfast section and the pool.

Generally, the hotel is quite good for business trips.
