“best place to stay in Nairobi”

This is the sort of hotel people stay for one night and move on. But I'd recommend staying a few nights and just enjoy this great hotel, the spa, the gardens, the great pools. Take a walk in the evening listening to all the frogs crocking away as you wander through the well lit grounds, across bridges over the 'pool/water feature'. Rooms are spacious and well decorated, beds are so comfy. This is truly the perfect start to a holiday in Kenya. Very reasonably priced. You have to watch the 'Safari Cats' show in the evening and try all sorts of meats, from goat to Ostrich etc. My husband got so excited he couldn't help but shout "yeah baby!" during the show! Kids will be kids...

First hotel we stayed at prior to starting safari. We went in the off season so it was quite quiet, also seems to be used quite a lot for conferences. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, staff very friendly and service home too. Hemmingways bar was an excellent place for a picturesque drink on the terrace. Highly recommended.

We stayed for one night prior to a safari. We were greeted warmly with hot towels and a fruit juice, much needed after an overnight flight. The reception is stunning with a life size carving of an elephant; the grounds are beautiful, only regret was that it was Kenyan winter and so could not make use of the pool. Dinner was a real event as we enjoyed the array of exotic meats at the Game BBQ followed by the dance and acrobatic show. The room was large and had three large single four poster beds. The gift shop was also very reasonable. A true oasis in the middle of the Nairobi hubbub.

Stayed there for company conference decent room with wooden flooring but room needs renovations for electrical work nice poster bed nice balcony with good views. Poor WiFi connection in the room otherwise good speeds in the areas where WiFi connection is strong like conference areas.

Lot of eating places Japanese , Italian , African has a casino and a nightclub decent breakfast area decent room service but there is tray charge of 3.50 USD whatever you order and whenever so order all at once what you want to order food is decently priced not very expensive for a resort like this.
Interesting place to stay just outside of Nairobi for few days but looks like the place is built mainly for conferences.

Room Tip: If you don't like to walk for long then choose rooms no starting from 200 to 300 near the pool a...

I enjoyed my week at SPH but I would not have stayed if I was vacationing on my own. The Food is quite good but everything is expensive, especially the taxis. I will say it is the most spacious place, park-like, so close to the city.

This was was third stay in this hotel set in lush African gardens in a good location with easy access to the recently completed freeway.
The rooms, reception areas, numerous restaurants and bar areas make this a real African experience. Nightly tribal dancing, a casino, various eating places and good entertainment make this location a real pleasure.
Two warnings though. This place is becoming increasingly expensive and the wifi charges are very high. In addition, if the hotel has arranged any transfers to or from the airport, ensure you triple check and have a contact number at hand, as the service is very unreliable.
However, overall the staff are friendly and it's well worth a night or two if your in Nairobi.
