I believe this is the only national park in the world, on the outskirts of a capital city!
The day we went we saw 11 Rhino’s! both black and white which really made our day! also spent time in other national parks in kenya and not even seen one....We also saw:- Lions, and all the different gazelles and antelopes ( Lots of Elands ( an other one one doesn’t see everywhere..) and Lots and lots of different beautiful birds!
Shame about the new railway being built through a part of it but this park is so enticing that you can forget the « human » involvement and just completely lose yourself in « nature » at its best. A very worthwhile day out for one and all.

As I summarised in my title, if you are in town for a short period of time, then the half day tour to Nairobi National Park is an easy way to do a safari. However, the animals are quite scattered across the savannah, and you will spend quite a fair bit of time not seeing anything while the driver drives you around. In the end of the day, depending on what you expect, it will be either well-worth the money for you or overrated.

The only National park in a city, fantastic place to visit as you are guaranteed to see the animals at the opharnage section. I really enjoyed the feeding of the animals. Fantastic place

If you want a fun day out with the kids, visit the national park within the city of Nairobi. The kids will enjoy seeing the different wildlife that call this place home. Not far from the town centre and very reasonable entrance fee. Enjoy!
