Great facility, lovely staff, noisy at front of hotel!

The first night I arrived at 1am and there was a club opposite with blasting music til 4am. I asked to be moved. They said it was full - it wasn’t!

However, they moved me the next day and the rest of the stay was excellent. Staff all incredibly friendly. Safe location. Good gym facility. Satit Centre immediately behind. They should have refunded the first night.

Stayed at the Jacaranda for two nights at the start of a safari holiday. Whilst the rooms are a little dated, they were comfortable and clean. There is also an inner door to the room as well as the ‘front’ door which cuts out all the outside noise.

The hotel has a very good sized gym and an outdoor pool with sun loungers. Just across the road at the back is a small shopping centre where there are plenty of ATMs and a few places to eat. There’s also a huge Carrefour supermarket on the lower ground floor if you need to stock up on drinks/snacks.

Breakfast was buffet style with an excellent choice of cooked and continental style options including an omelette station. We ate in the hotel on both nights too and again dinner was good, albeit we did wait a little while for the food to arrive.

Staff are all welcoming and friendly, overall a great stay and I would happily use this hotel again.

We stayed two nights here after arriving in Kenya. The hotel is right in the heart of a "good" neighborhood in Nairobi. Still, there is a wall surrounding the hotel with armed guards at the gate. The first night was miserable as a club across the street was playing music so loud we thought we were in the club. The hotel moved us to a different room for the second night, and it was very quiet.

The rooms are huge, which is great. They are just very outdated and old. The whole hotel needs a renovation.

Food in the restaurant was mediocre. Plenty of variety for breakfast, with eggs being very good. Dinner was ordered off a menu. We probably would not have eaten there but the hotel did not recommend leaving the property on foot.

Nairobi in general is a very large but very poor city. Unemployment is something like 45%. They also have the largest slum in Africa. Infrastructure is bad - roads and airport are not what we would expect in the USA.

We would not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Room tip: Get a room in the back of the hotel away from the clubs.

This little hotel in the heart of Nairobi is an absolute gem, the rooms are quiet and clean, the wireless internet is fast and reliable, the food served at breakfast is fantastic, the staff are friendly and helpful and the grounds are a tranquil retreat after a long day. I will recommend this little hotel to anyone staying in Nairobi for business or pleasure.

The Jacaranda was a terrific place to stay. Imagine how surprised we were to see the chef in the hotel garden picking fresh greens and avocados. Right outside the restaurant was a garden where it appeared they grew their own salad greens and herbs. There was even an avocado tree. Our salad was tasty and very fresh. Our room was comfortable and airy. We took advantage of the spa. Be sure to check it out. The steam room and sauna are free for guests to use. The massage was of excellent quality. She even did my feet. Right behind the hotel there is a mall. Nice shopping in there and on the top floor there is a food court which was a much less expensive alternative to hotel cuisine. A nice hotel that we would choose to stay at again.

Breakfast is good, water pressure in the shower as well. Internet is also good. What I especially like are the 2 doors in the room. When you close both, the room is very quiet. There is just a restaurant across the street (Node) and when leaving the hotel through the back entrance, there is a small mall across the street, where you can also eat. The pool I haven't tried, as it is currently cold season, where temperatures in the morning are below 20 degrees Celsius. No mosquitos in Nairobi at this time of the year.
