We stayed here for three nights and just loved it, particularly everyone working there. This is the kind of place where they pull your chair out for you and place your napkin in your lap.

Pros
-Nice balcony overlooking the river to watch crocs and other animals
-Nice gift shop with reasonable prices
-Hair dryer available upon request
-Coffee and tea in room, and also available with cookies before typical game drive times
-Stocked, reasonably priced mini bar in room, with wine glasses
-Mongoose, monitor lizards, and monkeys right below the restaurant deck
-Tip box at reception made it easy, didn't have to worry about always having singles
-Security guard escort back to room after dinner in case of animals (monkeys, hyenas)
-Great desserts! Best of the six lodges we stayed at
-Very friendly restaurant service -- Paul was simply wonderful and always greeted us by name
-Fresh food -- buffet with some dishes cooked right there
-Pool with towel service
-Generator hours conveniently set around game drives

Cons
-Too few outlets
-Pretty far from the Mara River so you need a full day game drive to get there and back
-Land line at reception not working, but they let us use a cell phone to make restaurant reservations for when we got back to Nairobi
-You could feel the springs in the mattress, but then we actually slept quite well

Random advice -- If you're getting a boxed lunch for a full-day game drive, take a look at the menus posted on the wall near reception. I love meat but found the vegetarian lunch box to be far more to my liking.

we stayed here for 2 nights as part of pollmans tours 7 day kenya classic - booked through travelbag. the lodge is overlooking the talek, river and we saw 2 crocs, hippo bull, hippo mum with baby, cape buffalo, monitor lizards, vervet monkeys, antelope with young fawn, family of banded mongeese. birds including weaver bird colony, that was even before we started the safari!! our server paul in the breakfast/lunch/ dinner area was brilliannt, chatty, happy and told us when all the animals were in the river. the lodge we stayed in was clean, it had safe, tea & coffee, no tv, no phone. we did 3 safaris on the mara and its like going into a wildlife documentary - animals, animals, animals every where!!!! the food at the lodge was lovely, buffet style and plentiful - we would return in a heartbeat!!

Room Tip: if you love animals go to this lodge

Unexpected comfort in the Masai Mara. We had no preconceived ideas as to what to expect. but were very pleased with the choice of food and comfort of the rooms. The staff were very helpful at all times and our Safari Driver Dan was very eager to show us as many animals as possible during our stay! The room overlooked the river, so after our early morning drive we were able to sit and watch the animals and birds form our terrace!

We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and taken into our room. It was very close to the restaurant. The windows of the room opened a beautiful panorama of the park separated by a river where lived a crocodile and hippos. One day there were seen 5 giraffes just going along the lodge.
Rooms are quite big with a balcony to have rest and look at the animals. Bathroom is clean with plenty of towels and all necessary stuff.
Food tasty with a good variety of food. Amazing desserts and fruits.
Staff extremely friendly and smiley and ready to have a small talk about anything any time.

We stayed here for 3 nights during safari and enjoyed it hugely. We had super service and the waiters and staff were so friendly. The buffet meals offered great choice and the bar was well stocked with great choice. There is a river outside where we saw crocks, hippos and heard elephants thrashing during the night. We really had a super time and would highly recommend it. The manager and owners were also so helpful and courteous which added to the standard of service even further.

I stayed at Mara Simba Lodge for two nights. The place is really nice located in Masai Mara. The overall standard is good with average food. Our stay was really satisfying until we discovered that the cleaning staff had went through our luggage and stolen some things. If you decide to stay at Mara Simba Lodge be careful and lock away all your valuables.

The Safari is great with the right driver but a huge warning is that we were stolen off many things during breakfast before leaving for check out parfymes ECT. The cleaning staff had gone through our bags which we unfortunately noticed after the departure. Beware and rethink before you book a stay here!
