Beautiful setting if you want to watch a wildebeest crossing. Fantastic service and hospitable staff. Great tented camp experience. The tented rooms are spacious with comfy beds, fresh linen and puffed up pillows. The only downside side is the bathroom ( not much privacy). The Menu needs to be a little more diversified with options.

The camp on the banks of Mara River is one place I would like to recommend to serius travellers who wishes to share with nature. One place with no signboards you have to comb your way to get there. The location is ideal for photographers.

Room Tip: Tents facing the north side of Mara River.

I along with 03 other senior medical consultants from Sri Lanka have got the privilege of staying in this wonderful camp in Maasai Mara from 24-28 July 2014. We all are wildlife photographers and that was our 6th Mara tour. We were very fortunate to be in Entim Camp as we witnessed the great crossing (migration) of wildebeests few metres away from us. The camp staff was very good and the food was fantastic. Manager David was above average I would say. It was very comfortable and quiet stay. No doubt Entim Camp is an ideal hideout for wildlife photography.

Excellent location inside the park and on the Mara river. This was our first visit and our first stop was 4 nights at Entim camp. Our driver Henry was really good and enthusiastic. When he picked us up at the airstrip he asked right away if we wanted to go to the camp or do a game drive...easy choice...we came here to see the wildlife so lets get started !! Within 1/2 hour of arrival we are taking photo's of a leopard in a tree.

For 4 days Henry was always looking for whatever was going on. On the radio, driving around, sitting, waiting for something to happen...our guide was plugged into the area and always so excited to see things we were sure he had seen dozens of times before. Watching how excited Henry was seeing all the things we saw...that really made our time here special. In the 4 days we saw all of the "Big 5" except for Rhino. We saw a Cheetah kill, a wildebeest crossing that lasted over 1/2 an hour, lots of lions and all the other animals you would expect to see.

On our 15 day trip over 4 areas in Tanzania and Kenya, the Masai Mara was head and shoulders above the other areas for amount and diversity of wildlife presence. As we continued our trip we kept talking about what we saw on the first 4 days in the Mara...

The camp itself was also more than we expected for essentially being in the middle of nowhere. With showers, roomy tents, electricity and Wi-Fi. Wake up calls with tea/coffee and good food for all meals. We were very satisfied with the camp and the staff. As well, the camp is well located right by the river and every night there was wildlife around us; hippo, zebra, giraffe. Just about every morning we got up there was also wildlife right in or near the camp. We really felt like we were in the middle of the wildlife world and not the wildlife in ours.

We had a fantastic experience here and would definitely recommend this camp. The first opportunity we get we'll be back.

Room Tip: If you don't mind a short walk the tents further from the main area are more secluded.

Located on the Mara River, the hippos came next to my tent window munching grass all the way. Good views of the river. This is a very good camp with spacious permanent tents with bathroom attached. Beds were very comfortable having sufficient bedding to chase the cool mornings. Night sounds in your tent ranged from lions, hippos, hyenas to lizards. Cannot say enough about the friendly staff that wants to accommodate any need. The campfire at dusk with drinks and snacks was so relaxing before dinner. All of the meals were very well prepared and presented if they were at a 5-star restaurant. The soups were the very best at each lunch and dinner. I will tip my hat to Manager David and his staff for friendly and professional service and cannot fail to mention the Masai men guarding the camp at night and escorting us to and from our tents. This is an experience that must be enjoyed at least once in a person's life. Highly recommended!

Entim Mara, what a location! Right near the Mara River, Entim offers the guests the ability to watch the wildebeest crossing. We were able to see buffaloes and zebras very close to us. In a distance we could see hyenas, Wildebeest and gazelles. The Maasai staff took us by the river to see hippos and crocodiles, and with them around we felt completely safe!

The tents were cleaned daily. At night we had hot water bags in our rooms. There was hot water available at all times. Electricity is available in the morning from 5.30 to 7.30 am and then from 6pm- 11pm.

The best part of Entim was the staff, the chef will cook what you want and his food was amazing! David was there all the time to check on us and made sure all our needs were met! He is the best! Jonathan was amazing too! Finally Nixon and the rest of the Maasai made us feel safe, they were available to walk with us down to the river, also each night they would accompany us to the tents. As soon as you opened your tent after 6pm till 7am the Maasai were there to accompany you to the main dining area or anywhere else. They pointed out birds or animals around us. They were all there to say goodbye to us on the day we left and they were also there as soon as we arrived with fresh juice and hot towels! The staff at Entim made ours stay memorable and we thank them for a wonderful stay at Maasai Mara!

The Entim Camp is a nice lodge, where we spent 4 nights. Location is great, close to the Mara river, so you can have a view of the river and the hippos in the water from the bar and restaurant. The tents are located on either side of the main area. Tents are comfortable, and well decorated, allthough the lighting at night is a bit poor. If you want to read in your bed, you will need a flash light. Good quality bed, and nice shower.
Staff is great, and particularly Jonathan and Mike, who are waiters in the bar and restaurant are wonderfull guys, who did everything possible to make us happy.
Food is lovely. At your wake-up call, tea or coffee with cookies will be served in your tent. Breakfast was for us a packed breakfast box with many choices, which we ate during the morning game drive. Lunch is a three course meals, just as diner, with plenty of variation and really good quality. After the afternoon game drive, drinks and snacks are served at the fire-place. It is a pity that they still serve bottled water, and do not have a good filter system for drinking water. It means that for drinking and brushing teeth, we must have used several dozens of plastic bottles during our stay.
Game drives were very productive, with excellent views of lions, cheetah and even a crossing of about 5000 wildebeast and zebra. Our guide also did know how to position the car for good views and the best pictures. However, we did feel that the focus of the game drives was a bit too much on big cat sightings, and the rest of the wildlife was almost completely ignored by our guide. We felt that a significant loss in the quality of the game drives compared to other places where we have been. Also it was a pity that our vehicle was not in tip-top shape, and did not start on two occasions while on game drive. Allthough it was solved quickly, you do not want the think about this when oberving a big pride of lions.

Room Tip: All rooms are equal, and situated close to the main area.

Entim, Manager at Entim Camp, responded to this review, 5 July 2014
“Thank you for your feedback and comments Jan-Tiny.
It is very important to us that guests get the most from their game-viewing experience and would urge everyone to explain to their driver from the outset what is important to them and we will do our best to accommodate that, within the confines of other guests’ wishes who are sharing a vehicle of course. While big cats are a priority for many we know it isn’t always the case! Following your feedback while with us we were therefore pleased to be able to refocus your drives around what was important to you and were particularly thrilled that you got to see a crossing.
We apologise for the brief vehicle problems you encountered. These were caused by temporary replacement vehicles while our usual fleet was in for service and we are relieved we solved the problems swiftly at least.
Regarding the use of plastic bottles , this is an area under constant review by us due to guests perceived integrity of unsealed water so thank you for your input and feedback. We would also like to inform you that all plastic and glass bottles are part of a recycling program in all our camps.
Lastly, we will pass on your kind comments to the team and the chef!
David
