Tamarind is one of the best known seafood restaurant in Mombasa.
The setting is very romantic, with great views. On arrival we were seated on the terrace and we ordered lovely cocktails form the wide choice available. The drinks came with tasty treats, deep fried prawns, coconut sticks and arrowroot slices. Never new you can deep fry coconut or arrowroot, but they were delicious.
When our table was ready we were seated in the dining area and ordered our dishes. Two of our party opted for lobsters, my husband choose the crab and I had the Zanzibari seafood casserole. WOW, it was amazing. The lobsters were served in a large shell, and my husband opted the crab to be “served as they are” complete with all the implements needed: cracker, bib, lobster, pick and a large finger bowl. Everything was delicious.
The atmosphere was lovely, with excellent service. A must for seafood lovers.
