Description: In April 1962, as Mombasa was growing into one of East Africa's busiest ports, Dalip Singh Wilkhu had a vision. While working as a signal operator for East African Railways, he was inspired to feed arriving visitors while preparing packaged meals for those preparing to depart. Singh Restaurant was born. Since then, Singh Restaurant has fed generations of people from various walks of life... Providing lunches and dinners for entire groups of workers, for families, for individuals... And becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region, and drawing visitors from nearby cities such as Nairobi and Dar es Salaam. Our success comes from high quality in all aspects of our business, from the food we serve, to our operational efficiency, to the atmosphere we provide our visitors from the moment they walk in, until the moment they depart. Our quality of food and quality of service has helped Singh Restaurant gain recognition as the most highly recommended Indian restaurant in Mombasa by sources including TripAdvisor and Lonely Planet.

The food here was well priced and delicious. Th Goan Fish Curry was our highlight. We were lucky enough to get a table without a reservation, but were told booking is usually a must. There were lots of Indians eating there, which is always a good recommendation. Lovely and cool too with good air con, and friendly staff. A Mombasa must see / taste!

reserving a table three days earlier, we went there as group of four. Me, my boyfriend, Mother and our driver.
The first impression was good, because the askari was keeping an eye on our driver's car, so that he could join our dinner.
Secondly, our waiter was really friendly and the starters came as quickly as we were eating them! We had some kind of spicy prawns, garlic mushrooms (oh dear, tons of garlic...but sooo good!) and a salad. Superb!
The main courses were as satisfying as the cold beers, the lassi and the chai. I cannot describe the taste, since I've never in my life eaten such a incredible indian food. The low prices are unbelievable. Four persons were eating, drinking and enjoying themselves for 6.000 kSh! The servings are big like Mount Kenya - be prepared to take something home. It's too good to throw away.
Just go there and see for yourself

We went there on Sunday evening and the restaurant was half filled with customers. The waiter took down our orders but forgot to bring our roast papads. He did bring them when prompted.
For some reason there was no music in the restaurant which resulted in lack of ambience.
The food was very good especially the Pepper wings and the Mari Methi chicken. The chapattis were hot and we could not finish the portions. We asked our waiter to pack the food but he forgot and we had to ask another waiter to do it. I have been to this restaurant many times during my visits to Mombasa but on this occasion the service was not as in previous visits. Some tables were provided with finger bowls and some were not given any. Maybe this lack of service was a one off but would come again next time in Mombasa just for their food.

Chilli chicken for starters and their signature chicken curry were my fav !!
Charming and cheerful environment.
Choices are to suit all palates.
Chapatis flow as you chew through the delicious flavours.
Call in. Care to try :)

Home away from home!
From the moment you park the car to the moment you’re leaving; you’re treated like family...”from the ever smiling security attendant who helps you securely park your car to the very welcoming waiter who takes you to your table and throughout your time there; making sure your desire for great food is looked after.” If you’re looking to put your feet up to a great treat of Punjabi cuisine fused with Mombasa’s welcoming spirit then there’s no other place that measures up to Singh Restaurant.

East or West...Singh Restaurant is the best!
In my life’s endeavours that have taken me to scores of places across Africa, Europe and recently Asia...”none have measured up to Singh Restaurant’s wonderful Punjabi cuisine”. The food continues to be “designed” with traditional Punjabi approach to delight your taste buds.
