This is a good quality hotel, with very pleasant staff/management team. The general state of the hotel is very welcoming, from the ambience to the warm housekeeping. Features such as the bar, gym and restaurant all added to my enjoyable stay.

I know It's cliche to complain about bad service in African hotels, but as a long time resident in various African countries and loads of experience in Kenya, this hotel stands out as shockingly bad, especially for one with a brand like best western.

We checked in at 1630, well after the check in time, but we were greeted by a lobby full of people (not a single travel group) waiting, in some cases for hours, to get into their rooms. All we were told was to wait. I eventually threatened to leave for another hotel in order to get someone to even explain to me what was happening. They simply refused to communicate with any of the guests. When we got into a room they tried to downgrade us.

Skip the breakfast, it was terrible. We walked into old town and found a cafe with an amazing local breakfast for $4.

Now, for the good stuff. Our room was very nice. It had a private balcony with a nice view. The bed was comfy and the room was spacious. The pool and bar area are also quite nice. This hotel has good potential- great location, great building and rooms, and nice views. It could be nice once they sort out their systems and the staff get some experience.

This hotel has to be the best in Mombasa. This newly constructed hotel stands in close proximity of Mombasa city centre and presents a warm welcome to its visitors. The ambiance is very calm and comforting. The staff members are helpful and very humble.I even spoke to their General Manager and he appeared very down to earth and welcoming.I was on a family visit on 4th October 2013 and had a room facing Fish Fountain and beautiful gardens. The breakfast was delicious and served piping hot.Thank you Best western hotels.Jambo kenya, jambo mombasa and ofcourse jambo CREEK SIDE HOTEL.

A beautiful hotel with great character! Close to the beach - the seaweed did not put us off one bit, this added to the authenticity of this beautiful paradise, with white sands, and a variety of watersports (be sure to take out travel insurance which covers this, especially if you're a novice like me!!).
The standards of the hotel were excellent, absolutely spotless, the beds were made daily, and turned down every evening, very comfortable might I add! Staff were very courteous, friendly and polite - complimentary wifi for my stay - what more could you ask for!
The restaurant was hard to stay away from, the food was great. I was worried at first since my wife is vegetarian, but was amazed at how well they catered for her needs, we were offered several dishes, for which we were asked for our input.
Our two weeks just flew by, I'd have loved to have stayed longer.
All in all, top marks to a well maintained hotel, extremely friendly, hospitable staff, great food and convenient location. Will definitely return to this hotel on my return to Nyali.

This has to be the best hotel for a short stay in Mombasa if you are there on business on the Island. Conveniently located on the the Nyali side of the bridge, this hotel is just outside the hustle and bustle of the island and near some great restaurants. The staff are also very friendly and helpful.

Perfect location. Able to get to town within a few minutes. Beautiful hotel, big clean rooms with huge balcony offering great creek view. Very clean swimming pool and great loungers. Very friendly and helpful staff and nothing is too much trouble. Excellent value for money and will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: choose a creekview room

This hotel was a very positive surprise! Not many guests there, presumably because it was newly opened two months ago. The buildings are nicely renovated and rooms tastefully furnished. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very good atmosphere, quiet location, beautiful view over the water. Loved the bar area by the pool on the water front. Rooms are large with nice balcony. The bed very comfortable; pillows were perfect! Had creek view and recomment that! Just a few less positive observations: The bathroom lacks shelves for placing a toiletry bag/necessaire. The breakfast could have been much better, the selection is very slim. Finally, it is a pity the pool was not made bigger, as there is plenty of space. It is not really for swimming, just for a dip. The Gym has good equipment, and there is AC there. But the AC did not work when I used it. Be aware that the Airport transfer is complementary only for stays of 3 days or longer. Be aware also that www.hotels.com has placed the hotel wrongly in their map.

Room Tip: It is worth the small extra cost to choose creekside for the views!
