I was on a business trip to Mombasa for 2 days and I choose to stay this hotel as it was cheap and close to Moi Avenue. But after staying one day I experienced that room is quite sub-standard with short of even bare basic amenities. Staff behavior at reception was ok on first day but was terrible on subsequent day and check-out day. The lady asked me to pay full bill for stay in advance despite my request and telling her the fact that the day was holiday and I did not have sufficient local currency with me to pay her. I just managed to keep some local currency for food, taxi etc on holiday and planned to exchange USD to Ksh on Monday. But the lady (aged about 40) was so inhospitable that she told me straight "I dont know where from you arrange money but you have to pay before you can enter the room........" The discussion (my pleadings) went on for 15 minutes and only when she was fed-up by my repeated answers that I dont have sufficient local currency, she some how had a sort of "pity" on me and very rudely obliged me to accept part payment, despite my request to hold and I will pay on Monday (the next day) morning. But she was so adamant that she asked me to pay all money what I have, leaving just $12 (Ksh 1000) with me for food etc.
It was so disgusting that I promised to myself that I will never ever go to stay Manson hotel again in my lifetime.
Secondly, they have free wi-fi but to use, you need to come down near reception and lobby so that you get signals. In rooms signals are not reaching !!!!
