It was the third and last Hyatt establishment I stayed during my recent trip in China and clearly the best (the Shenzhen Grand a close 2nd and the Shanghai Grand a more distant 3rd). In fact the Beijing Park is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed. The experience of staying in this hotel is more than satisfying, it is stimulating. The built quality evident in the rooms, the lighting settings, the service and the aesthetics of the common areas (especially the top floor bar) is inspiring.

A long way to reach due to the heavy traffic, but well worth it. Excellent service throughout the stay. Beautiful communal areas, beautiful rooms, buzzy and trendy nightclub.
I couldn't find a single fault.
Would love to return and stay longer.

I've raved about this place before on here but wanted to follow up again as its been about a year since my last review and I just organized a business event at the hotel last week. Our company is expanding into China and therefore as a major member of that team I'm staying here constantly. I organized an event last week for about 60 attendees (Chinese venture capitalists) at the hotel, breakfast, sit down lunch, wine reception, full day of legal seminars. First off the facilities were stunning. Absolutely top notch. But second, the staff, which always delivers, just totally blew the whole event out of the water. Not one thing was wrong - contrary, everything was absolutely 100% perfect. From pre-planning to menu conceptualization to prep to delivery of the event, they nailed it. I'm a lawyer not an event organizer so this was all new to me, and they really took the stress off. If you want to have a business event in Beijing, I can completely recommend Park Hyatt Beijing and all their wonderful staff & facilities.

It's a Park Hyatt - so you expect flawless service and the PH Beijing delivers on all the hard and soft aspects of a 5-star property.

Had a large corner room on the 47th floor with stunning views. The hotel seemed to be rather empty (it was the start of a national holiday) which made for a somewhat sterile experience.

Staff - everywhere, friendly, always eager to help yet unobtrusive. English was fine.

Room - large, hardwood floor, open bathroom concept (with large sliding doors for privacy). Very quiet. No hall noise.

Housekeeping - iron and board was delivered and set up - with lightning fast speed - by a smiling employee 2 minutes after my telephone request.

Internet - strong signal and fast speed, despite the censorship laws

Breakfast - in the China Club on the top floor. Go for the view. USD40 per person. Quality was good but the western fare selection was, frankly, surprisingly limited compared to the enormous (and better-priced) buffet at the JW Marriott down the street.

Taxi - allow extra time when departing. Drivers don't always circulate around the driveway (the hotel entrance is tucked away on a side street) so the bellman may have to call for a car. Had to wait 15 minutes on a Saturday afternoon.

Gym/Pool - fantastic. Two pools, well-equipped gym and locker rooms will those killer panoramic views. Had the entire complex to myself in the morning.

If money is no object, you'll enjoy your stay. Since all guest rooms on are high floors, you may want to consider a more terrestrial hotel if you have a fear of heights or suffer from vertigo.

None of the taxis knew where this hotel is as it's behind an office building, easier to mention being behind Yintai Centre or being opposite China World Trade Centre. The hotel does have a spectacular view of central district, the lobby and restuarants are on the 63rd floors and up and the rooms are on on floors below the lobby which you have to take separate lifts for. Didn't like the lobby, it was quite narrow and thus quite crowded with only 5 people and it was a bit of nuisance going up to the lobby and changing lifts to go down to the ground floor everyday.

Rooms looked really nice, beds super comfortable, bathtub was awesome and room was really quiet. However workmanship and the details were quite horrible which was why I didnt feel like I was at a park hyatt maybe just a normal hyatt, the drawers were fitted on a slant, the wires were hanging out from the automatic curtains, the safety deposit box sometimes said hi battery sometimes said low which freaked us out and we ended up not using. There was complimentary wireless internet which I really appreciated.

Lounge and China Grill food was ok but I wouldnt go back again (DO NOT have the sushi though it was the nastiest I have ever tasted) . We didn't manage to use the spa as one of the female therapists was constantly booked up and there were only 2, the other therapists were males. They do open until 1am i think and the later appointments seemed to be more available. The indoor pool on the 60th floor was quite nice, had a large jacuzzi and the changing rooms all had 360 views.

Overall service was quite good, everyone spoke good English. The hotel is about 40 mins away from Beijing International Airport and taxi costs around CNY70.
We rented a car for our tours so things didn't seem quite far away but the main road outside the hotel was constantly jammed up. There were also always 2 or 3 people waiting for taxis so it might be wise to just rent a taxi for the day which was just about CNY70 an hour but you have to have the exact addresses in chinese or speak mandarin otherwise you will prob get lost. I don't think I would return given the location isn't the greatest and there was nothing special about the hotel.

On a side note for Beijing, the city is quite enjoyable especially in Sept when the weather is nice and there seemed to be "less" people relatively anyways at the touristy spots. It's a great place for sightseeing and learning about china's history. Apart from the must sees, we also visited the birds nest and water cube which was quite impressive and nearby there were also people flying HUGE kites with LEDs lights on them which made them look like UFOS and I thought that was awesome. Overall apart from Peking Duck at Made in China in Grand Hyatt the food was just ok. We also went to have body and foot massages at Oriental Taipan Spa which was a terrible experience. The masseuses are fine but they let you make appointments when in fact the therapists are not avaible until maybe an hour later, they just make you wait in a tv room until one is, all the while telling you they are coming when they were clearly not available. Anyways this was the Winterless location and perhaps another one would be better. Wouldn't return as it wasn't even particularly cheap or clean.
