I stayed at this hotel. It has a convenient location not far from Bei Hai Lake. It is a no thrills hotel. First, nobody at the hotel speaks English and when my colleague arrived to meet me, the front desk told him that I was not staying at the hotel and he left, while I was waiting for him to call me.
Then my girl friend woke up in the middle of the night screaming because she had a bug in her hair. We were staying on the second floor, which was the same floor as the restaurant. The hotel moved us to the top floor, which then proved to have no bugs. Later, they gave us a 10% discount because of these two experiences.
Nobody to help you with your bags like other Chinese hotels. I do not recall any problems with finding a taxi.
Other than that it was a nice hotel with small rooms. I thought the location was OK.
