This is the hotel we stayed in at the start of our 16 day tour through China. Breakfast area really needs updating but the choice of Western and Chinese food very good. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The bar area was very basic and service not that great. The hotel is some way from the centre of Beijing and roads very busy with lots of traffic jams but this is all part of the China experience.

My wife and I stayed I this hotel for the first three nights of our Wendy Wu trip to China.

The hotel itself is situated next to a subway station on the third ring road, some way from the centre of Beijing.

The room we were allocated was at the end of the corridor overlooking the subway station and the main road and because of this was quite noisy.

Due to government regulations forbidding the use of air conditioning plant until May the room was hot and not easy to cool down as opening the window allowed in a lot of noise.

Wendy Wu had arranged that the windows would be left open during the day when we were out and that the blackout blinds shut to minimise the heat increase during the day.

The room we had was very large, clean and comfortable and the bed was quite soft, not something that you find in most Chinese hotels

Whilst we did not eat dinner at the hotel, we did have breakfast which was somewhat shambolic with basic items running out at times and not being speedily restocked and with a nice concrete trip hazard across part of the floor.

The bar on the ground floor was only open until about 10:30 at night after which it closed and the level of service generally was pretty poor.

Without realising it, my wife opened a pack of two tea bags which were in the bedroom for which we were charged about £ 6.

The level of English at reception was pretty limited.

Overall the hotel was not to bad, but any problems that we did have were speedily resolved by out Wendy Wu tour guide.

Room Tip: Not a tip to find a room, but one to find the hotel if you leave it and go wandering very far - make sure you get a card from reception that is in Chinese that you can hand to a cab driver to get you back again.

Great location! The rooms are spotless as is the hotel! This hotel is for expats and most everyone speaks english. The breakfast buffet is very diverse to satisfy everyones appetite. The rooms had really hard mattresses that I did not like at first but slept like a baby in now time! Hope to return!!

We stayed for 3 nights at the end of our Wendy Wu tour in room 804.Having booked the tour 10 months previously we were surprised and disappointed to find that our double room wasn't available and instead we had been put in a twin room with the beds pushed together, not too much of a problem as the single beds were sizeable and not too hard by Chinese standards. However, the outside temperature was 27 degrees Celsius during the day and the room was hot and stuffy as in line with other hotels the government don't allow air conditioning to be turned on until mid May. The bedroom window was locked so we asked reception to open it which the concierge did within minutes. The open window cooled the room very slightly but the room was still quite hot and this allowed the noise from the busy street below including every other car sounding it's horn to be heard in the room. There was no bath but a walk in shower that had a very good water flow (the best shower of the 5 hotels that we stayed in on this tour). There was a safe in the room, coffee and tea making facilities and two bottles of water complimentary each day. Breakfast was of a good standard providing both Western and oriental dishes with a good window view of the busy road down below.

Room Tip: Choose a room at the back of the hotel so that it is quieter when the window is open.

Stayed in this hotel for a few nights as part of the Wendy Wu tour. It was comfortable, the bed reasonable for China standards (not too hard!) Bathroom was great, had a fantastic shower. Breakfast had all sorts of food available, chinese as well as western style so plenty of choice. The only drawback was the lack of airconditioning. This was a government ban at this time of year so was not the hotel's fault but the rooms were warm and got a bit stuffy. Free wi-fi in the lobby area so you can check your email. There are some fast food shops and a convenience store at the front of the hotel so very handy for drinks and eats.
