I found this hotel to be very good value when staying in beijing. The rooms are clean, comfortable and the place includes a nice free breakfast.

The location is okish, but it is a bus ride or 15 minute walk to the subway. The area around the hotel is quite authentic and is more old town beijing than the new, however I didn't mind this. Note that while called temple of heaven, like with most things in beijing, the map distances are deceiving, especially if it's 35 degrees and is a 20 minute walk.

Overall it's a decent and good value place, however there are better located hotels for the attractions.

Holiday Inn Express Temple of Heaven is an excellent hotel. Located close (by taxi) to all of Beijing's major attractions, and a stroll away from the Temple of Heaven. Staff are very friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and nothing was too much to ask of them. They helped us get a driver to the Great Wall, booked taxis to the airport and the courtesy shuttle whisked us to the subway station every morning in no time. Breakfast was good, though more continental choices would be welcome. Food at the restaurant was good, and not too overpriced for a hotel in Beijing. Rooms were clean, fresh and welcoming. Highly recommend to both business and leisure travellers.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views!

We stayed here during a visit to the great wall of china. It was a lovely stay and the staff so very friendly. We would recommend it. Close to all location attractions and the shuttle bus to and from the airport is helpful. Would certainly go back.

I recently stayed here with our Study Abroad university program, and the room and breakfast was better than I could have hoped for! Extremely friendly staff, fantastic food and amenities that cover everything one could want to do in a given day in Beijing. Other than a bad experience with a taxi driver who told me one price than demanded a much higher price once arriving at my destination, the overall experience was great. Take the subway, 15 minute walk and only 2rmb, or about .30 cents to go anywhere in the city. Best money I spent in three weeks!

The hotel is walking distance to the Temple of Heaven. It is about a 20 minute walk to the subway station. Bus station is right on the corner. The staff is extrememly polite and kind. There is an ATM in the lobby, along with a mini-store for essentials. There is free wifi, and an amazing selection of food at the free breakfast!

I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because it is 20 minutes walk to subway; but everything else was perfect. a 20 minute walk is not bad - the hotel is in a very safe area.

Stayed for 5 nights in April 2014 as part of a multi-stop holiday in China. Accommodation was good with a nice sized room and bathroom. A very pleasant room for breakfast with lots of computers available as well as wi fi in the rooms. Breakfast was well presented with a mixture of Chinese and European food. It was a long way from public transport and whilst it was easy to get a taxi from the hotel, it was very difficult to get one back as quite a way out and many taxi drivers did not recognise the address. Very little nearby, we repeatedly asked for advice on local places to eat and reception staff were very unhelpful. I would not stay again because of the location and reception staff.

Recently had a four day visit to Beijing staying at this hotel. Accommodation ok, what you would expect from a mid level hotel, quiet room and well appointed, breakfasts leave a lot to be desired.
Neither East or West cuisine but a poor combination of both, don't expect an English type one.
Hotel location good, close to a number of Chinese restaurants, five minute walk. Use the Beijing taxis, very cheap and good service, take a hotel business card to show driver where you want to go back to, minimal English language.

Room Tip: Expect to eat out for Dinner, hotel food very basic, use the local Restaurants. Cheap by Australian...
