I don't often give hotels this much credit or these many compliments. The Hilton was fabulous, the staff was incredible, the room was stupendous, and the bath tub knocked my socks off!

Yes there were a couple of little glitches in the room (the speakers for the TV in the bath didn't work, a couple of lights were out, the wine I wanted wasn't in stock, but overall really great. Also, just a thought, but with that much of an OMG tub, you really should have the bath salts readily available (I stay at Hiltons often, so know about the bath salts, but these really should be standard with THAT tub!). As to the other small things, Perhaps just having the staff check these items while cleaning, would put an end to such small complaints. However this is one of the reasons I didn't give five stars even though I was so impressed over all.

I did see some of the other reviews complaining about a lack of views. Seriously, this is China, you are very rarely going to get any view other than the building next to you -- get use to that. :)

The concierge was everything you want and more. There was a bit of a communication error, and I left my ticket to the opera in my room. The concierge had someone bring me a new ticket. That's service!

The location was very convenient, close to the attractions, shopping, and great restaurants. I walked to the Palace Museum and Tienanmen Square, and had a great time meandering and shopping.

*The one thing I was NOT impressed with was the steakhouse -- to bill yourself as a "steakhouse", you need to know how to cook a steak. Isn't that like Steakhouse 101? I ordered medium and I got raw with a sear. I sent then sent my food back, and got my steak back blood rare, by then my truffle mashed potatoes were cold, and I wasn't thrilled. The waitstaff was very nice, but when I mentioned that it still was cooked correctly, it was shrugged off. During check out, I mentioned this to the staff, and was immediately comped the meal! Wow, I fell bad for mentioning this, but think this is something that really needs to be fixed forthwith.

Overall, GREAT hotel, and I highly recommend it. Service was fabulous, so was the room and location.

Unfortunately found my room dark and somewhat gloomy. Could not open the blinds, as there is a building right across, so obviously no view to speak of. Some construction noise in the evenings. Warned by the staff member following arrival: "your room is really hard to find".

Numerous things were not functioning properly in the room (which otherwise could have been quite comfortable!). With a very busy meeting schedule it was impossible to complain right away, so a few problems were not fixed during my whole stay. Once again, the staff reaction to my story was telling: "probably your room is too old..."

On the positive side, the location is convenient, rooms are of good size and overall clean (though the bathroom wall decor is somehow spoiling this impression). The restaurant and bar are OK. Hotel staff helpful and friendly, as well as apologetic about the situation and promising to make it up to me during the next stay. Unsure if and when this is going to be...

Overall, really hesitating whether to recommend this hotel or not...

Room Tip: Avoid rooms ending at 25 - dark and unable to open curtains as there is a building right across.

We stayed 3 nights at this Hilton where is very central location on the Wangfugiang Shopping Street. The staffs are 7 stars and helping , smiling always. Only the smell was not good in the corridor and sometimes in the room. Rest is Ok .
Breakfast is normal but we expected more cheese . Mainly Chinese food were serving. But it is not a complain.

Wanting to celebrate a birthday by spoiling myself to a stay over in a suite with friends, was a little disappointed in the actual size of the King Innovative Suite in fact ended up paying extra to get bigger room. Usually i would go to The Westin, in Financial St Beijing, which is a much more glamorous and spacious hotel but this is closer to home and wanted to try something different. Sunday Brunch at The Hilton has a big reputation but it doesn't compare to The Westin. Chalk and Cheese between the two 5 STAR hotels. I think you are paying for location of the Hilton Beijing…Also Disappointing Executive Club also as compared to The Westin.
Will not go back, not value for dollar.

I've stayed her a few times, it's in a good location and generally comfortable. My main problem is the check-in staff seemingly determined to up-sell to Exec rooms.
This trip I booked my nonsmoking King room 4 weeks in advance and checked again a few days before travelling. On arrival at midday, after long journey from UK the checking staff say there's a problem & no more King rooms left. Then upsell the Exec rooms for additional £50 a night. Otherwise the alternative is only smoking rooms. The exec rooms are nice, but not worth the extra and the exec lounge isn't up to scratch. For example, the breakfast is much better in the standard restaurant.
Overall, it a good hotel but very disappointing to be messed around with the rooms, and after 4 previous stays I will likely not stay here again.

Good or Bad that is the question.

Good:
Grand, large. Lovely, Comfortable rooms. Great housekeeping. Super breakfast. Convenient location. Shoppers convenience.

Bad:

At a first glance the Executive Lounge is WOW - the impression is OVER in a hurry. Lousy staff who are bored, lazy, not trained for the job. On a daily basis I saw one or two of them sitting at one of the lounge dining/cocktail table entertaining a friend including eating and drinking with them. Definitely not professional. So don't spend money to be on the Executive Floor. If you do then have breakfast on the 5th floor instead (Starwood Executive members make note). Evening cocktail time is pathetic. Terrible food, cheap liquor and no service.

Transportation/Taxi:

One is basically held hostage in the evenings as there are no taxis available. Pay a premium of may be 300 percent of regular fare and you have a possibility of obtaining a taxi.

Maybe it's just Beijing???!!! But I don't think so as I have been coming here for 20 years, every year, except the last three years and this is not normal at all.

I would settle for a less of the bad and keep the good. Alas life is not perfect - BUT it could be right?

Room Tip: Paul rooms good to go for the cheapest.

Stayed 7 nights at the Hilton Wangfujing in June 2014. Great hotel in a central location. Room was a very good size and very clean and comfortable. Staff were very pleasant and happy to help whenever it was required. Our only complaint related to the executive lounge. The selection of food in the evening was very limited and only varied slightly each evening. We felt this was very poor in comparison to other executive lounges we've been to in asia. We ate breakfast in the executive lounge on the first few days but then discovered the choice (and service) was much better in the main restaurant.
