The hotel was rated between a four to five star. The hotel is quite old and not maintained by an international hotel chain such as Hyatt, Holiday Inn or Days Inn. The overall cleanliness was OK, I had two different rooms because of a separate trip in the middle; both rooms' shower curtains were stained in the bottom and one room with a standup shower could not drain properly, I had to resort back to the shower in the bath tub. The bed is firm and comfortable.
The business center was short on resources, only with one computer, one printer and one copier. When I tried to use the computer it was down until the next day, the computer does not have simple software such as Adobe Reader, that means I could not print a PDF file, I ended up bringing my netbook and hooked up to the printer to do the printing. Maybe this hotel is not equipped to serve business clients. Each room has free wired internet access with wi-fi in the lobby. I do understand the problems with internet in China with too many filters and restrictions; when I tried to use Internet Explorer/Google it didn't work and they started me with Baidu which is also quite restrictive. Although I do read Chinese, it is rather difficult to read brand new instructions for a new software, I wish the hotel could be a bit more business friendly.
The front desk was very professional and the breakfast was OK, mainly with Chinese dishes with limited Western choices.
The hotel is situated in the west of Beijing, with the airport in the NE it is almost 50km, which will probably cost around RMB150-200

This hotel calls itself 5 star but is really barely 3 star. Rooms are a good size but could be too hot or cold and the air conditioning did not change it much. The overall finish in the rooms is shabby, with wall papers peeling off, wardrobe doors falling off. The shower floods if you leave the metal grate in place in 2 different rooms we stayed in. We had to remove the grate to let it drain. The included breakfast was quite good and the service was generally satisfactory. The hotel is located to the west of the city centre and is quite a way from the airport and can take 1-2 hours to get there in heavy traffic, which is most of the time in Beijing. Also there is extra charge if you wish to use the pool or spa, which appears to be a separate business from the hotel. There is free internet in the room but is wired only. There is supposed to be wireless internet in the lobby area but we did not test it.
