“Beautiful Hotel”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

This was a very nice hotel at a convenient location. There is a subway station just across the street and plenty of dining and shopping within walking distance. The hotel itself was very clean and the staff was friendly, but spoke very little English. The buffets at the resort were absolutely horrible so make sure you avoid them and eat out (you'll get better food at a better price). They also gave me a free room upgrade, which was appreciated. The room was comfortable, clean and well appointed.

It was OK. We chose the hotel because of its location (close to 2 metro stations, not far from Wangfujing, etc.) and also because our 2 kids (3 and 8 yrs) had to be in the same room. The tariff was reasonable. However, room service was not great. Nor did they clean up the room too well. I may go back but only if I fail to find another hotel with the same tariff.

This hotel is located right outside of the dongDan metro station. As long as you are traveling the metro before 11 PM, you can take the trip directly from the airport with just a few transfers. The hotel itself is large. The rooms are well furnished with the most comfortable bed and pillows of our trip! We were on the 12th floor, and the view of Beijing rooftops was great. Breakfast was not included in our room rate, US$67 a night. However, we could add the buffet for around $10-$15. The selection was decent, as we ate there one morning before our Great Wall tour. Other mornings we simply visited the McDonald's caddy corner across the street. It was actually cheaper for two people to eat McDonald's breakfast than it was for one person to eat the hotel breakfast. We booked our tour from the desk in the hotel lobby. No complaints there! A full day tour including the Ming tombs and the Great Wall stop, was 280 Chinese dollars. This hotel was a great location. It's a five minute walk to wangfujing Street and the night market, maybe eight minutes to forbidden city and Tianenmen square.

Not a bad hotel at all, rooms are big enough, comfy beds, cleaned daily, right outside the tube station. It's also very easy to travel around to different touristic points, very close by tube to Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Lama Temple or even the downtown area.
The restaurant is pricey, breakfast however is affordable. Otherwise there's a supermarket close to the hotel where you can buy any type of food.
Hotel staff was very nice and helpful.
Overall worth staying there for the money you're paying.

The Inner Mongolia Grand Hotel is a nice and simple hotel. I was in one of the rooms high up ‘with a view’ LOL – unfortunately there isn’t much to see. My room overlooked Dongdan Park (which was a nice place to go for a morning walk) and the odd high rise buildings in the horizon. The reception and concierge were very helpful with handling enquiries with a few people who spoke English (relief).
The hotel is really accessible as it is a few minutes’ walk from both Dongdan and Chongwen subway stations from where the rest of Beijing can be reached easily. No free wifi in the hotel, there have a wired cable though (only good for laptops) so be prepared if you’re travelling without one.
For Non Chinese guests – remember to take the hotel’s complimentary card with details of the location in Chinese characters (if you’re stuck or intend on returning with a taxi).

This is a Hotel that caters particularly for Chinese and Mongolian visitors , so cuisine is heavily geared to their taste but the selection is good and if you can't find something to suit you then really its your fault , and it is a fantastic location , just down road from Forbidden City and Tianamen Sq. The railway station is a couple of blocks behind it and the Dongdan subway is about 300 meters away and you can get anywhere on it for Y 20 , including the Airport!!
The staff are friendly and helpful , good size room . great shower. Their is a hospital just down the road so there are lots of little stores to buy water etc. WIFI works in Lobby only , but what the heck! Only thing that lets it down a bit is the carpets could do with a shampoo , but they arn't gross and the rest of the hotel is spotless
Try the DONGDAN DUCK restaurant on Wangfujang road , its very classy .A bit pricey by Chinese standards but worth the experience. Get the concierge to book or you probably wont get in and if he says you can't and that you just turn up, don't believe him as we tried and you can't!!
If you fail to get in , as we did the second time, there is a restaurant before you get there on the
same road called ANHUAN. it is actually under the Beijing Grand Hotel , although this isn't obvious till you get in. One side looks more like a K F C fast food outlet but if you go in via this entrance two girls in white lace dresss should be standing around doing nothing in particular and will escort you to it, otherwise go through the Lobby of the Beijing Grand.Their duck was nearly as good and cheaper, the restaurant is huge and very nice. They said the duck would be
30 mins. so we had some Sui Mai while we waited which were delicious.
