My wife and I spent 5 nights here in October while on our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Being a platinum SPG member, we got upgraded to a great (and massive) executive suite. The entire room was very modern and nicely decorated, with a very big bathroom (and a smaller half bathroom by the living room), a Bose sound system in the living room and plenty of bottled water available everyday.
We really enjoyed having access to the Club lounge. The breakfast there was excellent, with great variety (both Western and Chinese options) and the best pastries we had in our 3 weeks in China (they told us that everything is made in-house). On clear days (pretty rare, unfortunately...) you have great views of the Olympic village. They also offer appetizers and a very nice selection of wines and beer in the afternoon/early evening, and the staff was extremely friendly and attentive.
The staff at reception and at the concierge desk were also very friendly and helpful, whether to help us look for a cab or to give us directions to restaurants in Chinese to show taxi drivers.
Talking of which, we moved around town primarily by subway during the day. The closest station is less than a 10-minute walk away, and it is pretty straightforward to move around even without speaking Chinese. The hotel is not very centrally located (there is not much within walking distance, except for a massage place where the masseurs are blind and for the equivalent of a few dollars you get a very effective 1-hour massage), but Beijing is too spread out to walk everywhere anyway. We never had to wait long to get a taxi in the evening and only in one or two cases the cab drivers struggled finding the hotel.
The day we went to the great wall we hired a taxi driver called Robin Kong, whom I highly recommend - he speaks good English, he's very professional and didn't mind waiting for us for over 5 hours in Mutianyu while we were climbing the wall and dropping us off at a different location on the way back.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton and we would definitely stay there again if/when we go back to Beijing.
