We - a family of two adults and two kids of 10 and 7 - made the Gubeikou Great Wall Hike with Fred and Heidi. We had beautiful views on the wall, the hike was easy enough to do with kids, but not too easy so the kids didn't get bored. We all enjoyed it and it was one of the highlights of our trip to China.
Fred and Heidi are good company and everything was well organised.

Found Fred & Heidi through a friend, and had a wonderful time. Their website made it easy to see the different types of trips available, and then reserve and/or pay online. Fred and Heidi were very friendly, as were the people who own the farmhouse where we stayed overnight. Hands down some of the best food I ate while in China, and all home cooked! If you're looking to experience the Great Wall in a more natural (i.e. non-touristy) environment, go with Dandelion!

We would definitely recommend doing a hike and camp (we wished we'd done 2 nights!) with Dandelion Hiking. Fred and Heidi are a really lovely couple and we felt very safe and happy in their hands. We hiked up to the highest point of the wall in Beijing and camped in one of the watch towers. The views were absolutely amazing and waking up and having coffee and a croissant on the great wall was our favourite experience of our 3 weeks in China.
It's really worth doing these hikes because they take you out to the more remote parts of the wall where it feels like you have it to yourself- we only saw 3 other people during the whole hike. Transport ran smoothly, the lunch before we started hiking was yummy and all the equipment was really good. Altogether a fantastic experience and well worth the money.

This was an absolutely incredible experience. Fred and Heidi were some of the nicest people I have met and it was a pleasure being able to spend a couple of days with them. Everything was very well planned out and prepared for us, and the camping equipment was first-rate. This is a great opportunity to see sections of the great wall that have not been completely refurbished and built up, as well as avoid other tourists and crowds - as we did not see one other group during our time on the wall.

This is an amazing opportunity and shouldn't be missed!

This is simply the best. Fred and Heidi are so friendly and down to earth and just some of the nicest people. They really know what they are doing and have things planned so well.

I have no doubt you could select any of their adventures and you would have an amazing time.

Additionally, the price is amazing for everything included. They take you to parts of the wall where there are no tourist groups, swarms of people (there was no one but our small group on our hike), and tourist trappings at the other locations.

They give you all the gear you need, transportation, food, water, luggage storage on the bus, everything. All you need is your camera and maybe a warm set of clothes for once the sun goes down depending on the time of year, maybe some sunscreen too.

Simply amazing. If you have any questions, give them a call or shoot them an email. Super helpful.

Thanks for the great adventure Fred and Heidi. We will be sharing our experience with everyone.

Jason and Caitlin.
