After we saw the Kong-Fu the night before, it was a great experience to watch that show. The show was great especially the special affects. The most amazing was the flood scene at the end

Did not like the use of live peacocks as headgear. Some of the individual acts were very good. The stage is amazing - especially the water fall scene. Composed of dancing, acrobatics, singing - it is a bright glitzy show and worth going.

An experience that is worth the effort, a combination of acrobatics, ballet & gymnastics with a reasonable musical score thrown in for good measure. The theatre appears to have been created for this show as there a some spectacular effects the likes of which I have only previously experienced in Las Vegas.

Corp de Ballet this is not, but even so I was kept thoroughly entertained for the entire length of the show.

There are just a couple things that have take my review rating from five stars to four, the first being the use of a live peacocks that form part of the headdress of some of the dancers, spectacular though this is, our European, particularly British sensitivities may be offended by this. Although the animals did not appear to be in any distress, being affixed to the top of a dancers head would not I imagine be their first choice if asked!

My last comment is about the use of green laser pens to discourage members of the audience from taking photos or videos of the show. Whilst it is made clear in multiple languages upon entering the theatre, and by the video screens that are located on each side of the stage that photography or videography is not allowed, there are the usual culprits who whip out there mobile phones and, in a couple of cases, their iPads to grab an Image or two; this draws an almost immediate response from members of the theatre staff who point lasers at the offending devices in an attempt to shame the owner into ceasing with their activity. This impromptu laser show is somewhat distracting and frankly dangerous as the glass screens of the offenders devices usually reflect the laser to innocent parties located elsewhere in the theatre!

None the less, it's worth a visit.

A quick note of thanks to Tracy of China Odyssey for arranging the tickets, the seating location was excellent.

This show was not on our itinerary, but, whilst on the Yangtze River Cruise, it was recommended to us by other tour groups who had been to Beijing and said - don't miss this show, it's brilliant. So, therefore, we arranged with our tour guide, Cherry, to get our tickets. We were not disappointed as the show was brilliant. The costumes with stunning, as were the stage effects (particularly the floods), the music and special effects were outstanding. Tickets are approx. AUD$80, but worth it.
