Stayed here a few days and found this place to be clean friendly. Staff always gave me such a great greeting. I really enjoyed my stay here and will come again for sure.

Very nice staff, extremely large fitness club, large indoor pool. Rooms are large and comfortable with great bathrooms. Loved the pianists who entertain with wonderful, quiet music in the lobby.

While being quite expensive (even to BJ-standards), the room was not exceptional (small in size, thick carpet, worn out).

Most bothering: Room was not really clean (e.g. foot nail found in bed) and staff unsupportive (check-out took 25 minutes and needed assistance by manager).

Breakfast is (price-wise) also "over-the-edge", but this of course always depends on the perspective...

This is the original hotel permitted to be built for western visitors post liberalisation and it is showing it... Hotel's tired and the staff are not up to the usual Shangri-La 'nothing is too much trouble' standard. Lots of tour groups use this hotel (for whom it would be fine but perhaps not that well located). If you are on business I would suggest trying the truely excellent Park Hyatt across the road or the new Shangri La Summit wing behind this hotel. The building's tired, the gym not great, rooms small and a 15 minute wait for check in and check out usual.

Arrived into China World Hotel close to midnight and waited for 5-10 min for a room as the front desk struggled to find a room for me, long enough for me to see a few other people checking in/ checking out. (my colleague got upgraded to a suite).  Long enough to realize the wifi in the lobby didn't work (even though the wifi signal was on)  Was told while there is only wifi now on the executive floor, there'd be wifi in the future in all the rooms.

My room 1530 faced the Yintai center, nice huge window almost floor to ceiling with the lovely morning sun coming in.  Room had wifi occasionally, was well lit, best thing about this hotel is the location, service standards could be improved, I would prefer to stay at the newer Park Hyatt across the street (along with the Yintai center shops and Park Hyatt's spa) but sadly we don't have a corporate rate with them.

Overall a decent hotel but not the best in BJ.

China World has been the long running top notch 5 star hotel in Beijing. Room size is adequate and decoration is functional, although not as fanny as some recently opened hotels. The café shop has good selections of choices for breakfast and lunch, although most times it’s very crowded. The renovation underground to expand the shopping area and link it to subways and to the China World Summit and further to Kerry Center makes it a part of the very convenient compound. The nearby streets are getting increasingly congested and it’s very difficult to find a taxi in front of hotel lobby during the rash hour.

Room Tip: all rooms are good

The service is just great; the staff can remember my name when I return a few months later. The check-in was very efficient, room was spacious, comfortable and clean. During your stay, they will check with you about your stay in China World and you can feedback to them directly. The hotel provides fruits and mineral water which make you feel at home. In the room there is a DVD player, you can loan DVD disc from the hotel. It is also a popular convention location. There is a live performance of classical music in the morning and evening. You can sit and relax whilst you meet friends for a cuppa.
Hotel basement is a shopping mall which houses all major luxury brands and connects you to Traders Hotel, China World Summit Wing Hotel and China World office tower.

Finding food is not a problem; there are plenty to choose. There is a 24 hrs Hong Kong style café 金湖茶餐厅(国贸店) located at Office Tower 2. For a good and reasonable price meal of Beijing duck you can try “小王府(光华东路店)” which is a 5 min walk from Traders Hotel.

The hotel MRT station is call “Guomao” and its link to the shopping mall. Attractions like Silk Street Market, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Xidan shopping district are along this MRT line. Traffic congestion can be very bad in this area especially Chaoyang Rd.

Will recommend for Business or Family
