“Great Central Location”

Really good stay here, not the cheapest but very good service and facilities.
Loved the location and could walk out at night to soak up the atmosphere.
Revolving restaurant is a must see and while expensive, if it is a clear day or night you get some great views.

As part of a 36 person group tour I can only compare our room experiences with those of my co-passengers including my brother and sister-in-law. Our hotel was clean, beds comfortable, bathroom on the worn side yet functioned, and the location was a long 30 minute walk to Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. There was a good mall with plenty of restaurants across the street (walking tunnel under the busy street). Our room number 1224 at first seemed okay after we checked in. However, over the next 3 days we kept noticing our room being stuffy and actually hot. My brother's room was cooled by his air conditioning. The reception, housekeeping department, and air conditioning repair person all told us the same story - the government does not let the hotel turn on the air conditioning until the outside air temperature reaches a certain high level. Well, another couple of our fellow tour group were given another cooler room. But the hotel staff told us no other rooms were available. Finally, our tour director got involved and at least he secured us a large portable fan on our third and last night in this hotel. However, the housekeeping staff person who brought the fan made me feel like a rat as she finally showed me which Chinese character button to push to turn on the fan. Disdain is the word that comes to mind as her demeanor turned sour.

Other than our room temperature issue the hotel meets one's expectations for a modern, clean hotel in the heart of Beijing and near main tourist attractions and restaurants.

Room Tip: Make sure upon entering your room the air conditioning works.

This was my first visit to China, and I was pretty culture-shocked with my first steps in Beijing. The hotel made my arrival very comfortable, and the staff had decent-enough English to help me get around the city. Tianenmen Square and the Forbidden Palace are both very close, as is a shopping mall across the street, and the Metro just down the block. The hotel staff were accommodating and quick with requests for ice and an iron/ironing board. The room service food was decent, too. I was pleased that there was not much smoking going on inside the hotel.

stayed here for 2 nights I believe, accomodation was fine, breakfast too, a fair selection , did not eat dinner as I thought it was way overpriced, a lot cheaper to eat outside the hotel complex, sorry hotel managers but your driving diners away !

This hotel is touted as a five star luxury hotel, and the prices are very high for China, but in reality, it is nothing special. The rooms are spacious, but not very well kept up and old. The night we checked in we were given all smoking rooms because they didn't have any non-smoking rooms left, despite the fact that we had booked the other on account of a member of our group have severe asthma, and then the front desk staff lied to us and told us we hadn't. There is a swimming pool, but if you want to use it, you must bring a swimming cap of your own or buy one of theirs for nearly $20 USD. Surely there are better deals to be had in Beijing.

As part of a tour package we stayed at the Beijing International Hotel. I found the hotel to be a great place to stay. The rooms were well kept and the service was excellent. The Beijing International Hotel is located on a busy main street in the middle of town, it seemed to be close to everything. The hotel resturants were really good, especially the breakfast buffet. The Beijing International Hotel is an upscale place, as the guests all appeared to be at least upper middle class. I was satisfied with my stay; though I think the bathroom was not as upscale as the rest of the room, it was a little small to me.

Pros:

- Location, very close to metro and line 1. Close distance to main sights in centre of town.
- Wifi in the rooms was really strong.
- Beds were extremely comfortable
- Probably value for money

Cons:

- Facilities cost and we were only told after we had used them (i.e. the hotel simply presented us with us a bill for the gym rather than inform us that it cost prior to our use)
- pictures show a brand new bathroom, but we were given a VERY old bathroom, with a frustrating shower which flooded the room every time.
- towels were not of 4/5 star quality
- Breakfast was expensive

Overall, would be tempted to stay here again due to the location and the price. However, if money wasn't the issue - there are certainly better options in the area.
