The hotel would have been a grand affair in its day. The bed was comfortable enough but the carpet was stained and not overly clean. The bath surface/enamel was eroded away in a large patch and the bathroom needed renovating. The western breakfast offerings weren't overly appetising and the coffee should be avoided.

Was hoping for the best after reading a few negative reviews but the room and service was beyond our expectations! I've booked 2 rooms for 3 days (using my club entitlement) and the stay was the best out of 3 hotels I stayed in Beijing. The rooms were huge with a sitting area. We were given an extra bed with a king size bed (not expecting this since I booked for 2persons per room). The carpet was a bit dirty but just some patches here & there. However, no matter how clean the carpet were, I won't walk around without bathroom slippers, let alone allow my kids to sit on it. Comfortable bathroom slippers, 3 bottles of mineral water and bathroom necessities provided. Hair dryer and iron provided. Separate shower and bathtub. The location is a bit far from all the actions but not difficult to get around. Taxi to & fro Wangfujing is about Y40. But you can get there by bus and subway for 3Y! Take bus 28 from across the street. Tell the bus conductor you want to stop at Guomao train station (Guaomao Di tie zhan) & take the Line 1 to Wangfujing/ Forbidden city/ Xidan. Bus 28 also brings you all the way to Silk market in about 30mins depending on traffic (for 1Y!).

It was exceptionally disappointed with this 5 Star rated hotel - not meant for anyone staying if you have a choice - "Unbelieveably" dirty inside out of the Hotel Rooms - stains on carpets; no cleanup in the bathroom (good supplies of shower gel/shampoo but do you dare to use when not sure if replenished from previous stayed). Smell of cigarettes all over the entire floor - don't believe there's such thing as "NON Smoking" floor. Find Hair - very long hair from who knows when....both inside the room and bathroom from 1st day (please note that We have short hair)
Air conditioning doesn't work - centralized control which they have no idea how to set the temp level at - when the AC is on - room smell even worst

Breakfast was ok - but same food everyday - stayed here for 7 nights - have to be really early to be at the restaurant in order to find a seat yourselves (as there are other tour group having breakfast the same time)
The only confident food was cooking eggs in front of you - but took a long time as the tirst day - they used the size of PAN that could only make TWO egg - imagine the line up!!!
Not sure if anyone told them - the next day had impoved a lot - switched to the GRILL size that can cook 6 eggs at once.

Drinks were not attractive either - they have iced cold water but since TAP water was not recommended - not dare trying either

There are 2 kinds of HOTEL Rating in China - International and Local - whichever it is - this one is definitely NO where near TWO star !
I stayed on the 10th floor, my friends had to switch room the final night due to water leaked in the bath room - moved to 5th floor - room condition was worst than the one before - can you imagine? The lower the level - the worst maintenance it be?!

Stayed here for around ten days. Most things are good but not the room heating/air conditioning. Simply in the winter months, including March when I stayed, the unit in the room will only give out hot air (very hot!), despite setting it to 'cold' and the thermostat to around 15 degrees C. It seems you won't get any cool air in any of the rooms (I tried four different rooms!), or the public areas until they switch the system over to 'summer' setting! If you are unlucky and stay here in the spring or autumn when you get warm days, beware, your only choice would be to turn the system off and open a window!

To the Hotel's credit they kept moving me and finally upgraded me to an Executive room, which although suffering the same problems as the other rooms I tried, it was very, very comfortable. Thank you! The staff are also very friendly, and my thanks go to them for making my stay a pleasant one, It's just a shame about not being able to adjust the room temperature.

Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. The location is way off the city central and not very conveniently located. The shops are limited around the area, and the nearest mini mart is across the road at the petrol station. There were a few street vendors selling fruits just right outside the hotel.

The rooms are average and the lighting certainly needs improvement as it was rather dim. No issue with the sleep quality.

Breakfast was average and you are supposed to look for your own table. At times, that could be quite difficult as it could be packed with tour groups.

The hotel is not very central. The service was very poor, the rooms were filthy, the carpets were filthy, the lighting in the room was very bad. There was no hot water and the problem was not fixed even though we asked for them to attend to it.
