As with a few sites in China, we had no idea how BIG it was! It's not just the temple but a huge complex within a park - give yourself time to visit.

Visited the park in the early morning, however already plenty of people around.

Park very nice and well maintenanced, buildings very impressive. From cultural point of view necessary to visit when in Beijing

Great temple surrounded by the park where you can stroll and get away for a second from the buzz of the capital.
Go for it!

Very interesting place to visit. We went as part of our Wendy Wu tour so didn't have too long at the Temple of Heaven but well worth a visit. It is set in a park where lots of Chinese people gather to dance, play cards, sing and meet friends. It gives you a good insight into Chinese life.

We enjoyed watching the local people enjoying numerous activities in a friendly social setting. The temple was pretty impressive as well.
