“Wonderful!”

I love this place, even when it's busy.
Easy to get to on the metro, fantastic to wander around the lake or boat across it, climb the steps to reach the beautiful pavilions / temples......the spring blossom is well worth a look too.

“a long walk in a beautiful place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 May 2014

we took our time and walked almost anywhere, must have been more than 10 Km. Overall it's an amazing place and it must be seen. I recommend the audio guide to appreciate the meaning of all buildings, otherwise it's just like a nice stroll in a park. The audio guide updates itself and start talking according to the position because it has a GPS system incorporated, quite fancy.

“A great place to spend Beijing's summer”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 May 2014

An amazing trip back in time, the summer palace is built around a lake which, on the day we visited, offered cooling breezes. The paintings along the long walk were wonderful. We took the trip back to our coach on a dragon boat for a few extra yuan.

“A pleasant walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 May 2014

I only walked a short ways around and then rode their boat back to the another side. Beautifully painted structures and lovely landscaping. The palace is built on the dirt from making the lake, amazing.
