“SpringHill Suites, Erie, PA”
Reviewed 29 August 2012

Recently stayed at SpringHill Suites in Erie, PA on August 26. The bed was too soft and wireless Internet did not work. Not good for business travellers if you need Internet. On a positive note, I had a package delivered there and there was a note in their system as I checked in.

Check in Tower C, the newest and apparently swankiest of the three. Strange entrance like an office block. The reception was on the fourth floor no helpful signs except one that said "do not invite strangers to your room to play cards"! Poor English spoken at reception. Room was huge-more like a junior suite. Strange lots of tea-not sure which was complimentary. Glass fronted bathroom large with separate shower with rain and hand-held shower head. Separate brown towel for dyeing of hair provided (I need not bring my own)! The room was high up above 15 floors but the traffic noise was incessant even at 3AM. TV was poor quality and grainy with many local channels, CNN, a couple of English movie channels showing movies you never knew existed. House keeping quite clean, unseen but never changed pillow cases in 4 days. Some cadre stayed at Grand Hyatt somewhere and reported back to the state what he could remember! Meanwhile back to my card game!

Room Tip: Tower C and high floor.

Great hotel, frendly staff, very little english is spoken but we managed, breakfast was Chinese style as you would expect although they made an extra effort for my husband he had his own trolley with fried ham (looked like bacon) fried eggs (in butter) bread rolls (sweet) all very nice and it made him feel very special indeed!

The staff opend the pool just for us no problem nice clean and modern.

Room Tip: we like our high floor room for the views over the city please we were high up due to the building g...

very good hotel with excellent facilities for dinning, shops, meetings, conferences, seminars and holidays. The hotel has three towers, tower A is farthest from the busy main road and tower C is very close to the busy main road. The hotel offers a large choice of dinning restaurants and serves a wide range of buffet dinning. There is a coffee shop also on the ground floor lobby. The internet facility is free and the speed was good.

Room Tip: tower C is nearer to the main street and may not be as quiet as tower A and tower B.

I stayed at this hotel over the winter with a group from my school for about 3 days. The hotel was very accommodating to our large group (about 25). The rooms were very nice with all the basic amenities. One nice perk was that there were two showers, one was a stand up and one was a tub. The only complaint I had was that the thermostat was very unpredictable. Many times we would come back to the room and it would be almost 90 degrees, while other times it would be freezing. The complimentary breakfast was very good with lots of authentic Chinese cuisine and many choices. Additionally, there is a place to exchange currencies an they have a good exchange rate as well.

This hotel where I and my friend stayed for 2 days has three towers and we stayed in Tower C. The rooms are well maintained and spacious. The room where we stayed in was large, air conditioned and well furnished. The bathroom was quite clean and modern. The staff were concerned about our comforts and their service was good. But not everyone knew to converse in English. The food was utterly Chinese. We had to walk to KFC to enjoy meals during our stay here. The swimming pool here is good. I felt that this place would have been excellent if only we were Chinese.

especially if you are a tourist -do yourself a favor and stay in a nice location in Dongcheng (East Beijing).
if you are a hard-nosed, fluent Mandarin speaker in love with Chinese government hotels, then you can save yourself a few bucks over a Western chain in Dongcheng.
