The Imperial Mansion, Beijing Marriott Executive Apartments
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 21 June 2014

Excellent hotel, we have been here at least 6 times in the past year. Very friendly, always willing to help out. Great rooms, great location, away from busy and noisy beijing. Near forbidden city and next to two shopping centers, metro just a block away, very comfortable room, with bathtub and a separate shower, living room with its own tv and sofa bed. Will recommend for long or short stay, great pool on top floor.

As a Lifetime Platinum Elite member, I have stayed at Marriott properties around the world. However, this was the first time I have stayed for a week at one of their growing number of new Executive Apartments. The two bedroom apartment was more like a well appointed condo, with kitchen that included a fridge, stove, microwave and washer/dryer. There was plenty of space within the living room area for to spread out, watch TV, read and relax. The pool at this hotel is huge and was located on the 8th floor, close to our room. The location of this property is adjacent to the Beijing Convention Center, next to Wangfujing Street (for shopping and Chinese food Court), 1 block from Line 1 of the Subway system and within 1/4 mile of the Forbidden City and Tiennamen square. I should mention that the traditional chinese food market I mentioned serves Scorpions, worms, Starfish, squid,... you get the picture. Also, for those like me who can't be without their Starbucks every morning, there are two locations within 1 block of the property(one in the mall food court and one across from the Grand Hyatt). I highly recommend this hotel for families with children or adults that want extra room to relax. Our rate for the week (Family package) included transportation from the airport to the hotel and the breakfast buffet every morning on the second floor (the buffet was excellent with a mix of East and West, including an omelet and egg station). Least I forget the excellent staff, who answered questions throughout the week and were extremely helpful in meeting our needs.

Room Tip: Request a two bedroom on the 8th floor, close to the swimming pool and gym.

We booked the hotel for 1 week - a two room suite. It had a full kitchen, dinning room and living room as well. I was pleasantly surprise that the hotel did not use camera trick to make the rooms and amenities bigger than they were in real life. In fact, everything was bigger (especially the pool) and better than we imagined. We used the hotel to pick us up at the airport and we were met at our gate as we exited customs. The manager on duty met us as we exited the vehicle, welcoming us to Beijing and escorted directly to our room. They took care of the check in there and asked us to inspect our room. I had emailed ahead to request that some food supplies were brought to our room for our son (bread, eggs, milk). They were there waiting for us - along with two plates of fresh fruit - as a welcome basket for us. Really nice touch. We also ate at the hotel each morning for breakfast and two evening meals. All the food was great. Air conditional worked well - the pool was perfect - the staff very friendly and more than accommodating - unlimited bottled water always available - transportation to the from the hotel was great. The staff was so attentive that each morning when we arrived for breakfast they already knew that we need two cups of coffee and would begin making them when they saw us.

This hotel is right around the corner from DaDong, an amazing Peking Duck Restaurant. The area of town is part of WangFu shopping area. Not exactly pure Chinese history but full of great shopping (a lot of high end stuff) and a LOT of restaurants. We were in walking distance to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden Palace - not need to book these to places with a tour guide because you can walk there in 10 minutes. The hotel is happy to provide you walking directions as you leave. We did not book any of our tours through the concierge desk only because we had a bad experience with that in the past (not with this hotel) and tried to learn from pervious mistakes.

I seriously have no complaints and only great things to say about our stay.

The only problem that we had was trying to hunt down an email address for the hotel. I wanted to contact them to coordinate transportation and the kitchen items two weeks out. I was unable to locate the information on the website and Marriott Corporate was no help. HOWEVER, the hotel contact me about a week out to initiate a conversation on just those subjects. Just amazing!

BEST HOTEL EXPERIENCES EVER. Honestly, this was the best experiences we have ever had with a Marriott brand hotel as well.

Room Tip: Our room was amazing - I can only assume they all are.

Stayed here in a 1-bedroom suite for 7 nights recently. Everyone from the front desk to the bell desk were extremely polite and professional. Special thanks to Jonathan from bell desk who is always ready to help with our bags after we returned from a long day of shopping!

Room is spacious and facilities were almost brand new, as the hotel just opened last year. Gorgeous and very large swimming pool too on the 8th floor. Water temperature was a little cold so if it was slightly heated, that would be perfect!

Within 5 mins walk to the pedestrian walk at WangFuJing and easy access to the malls and restaurants all around. Take some time to explore the little shops at then back lanes across the hotel. You can pick up some very nice traditional Beijing cloth shoes for RMB 25 or bangles for RMB 20.

Just 1 slight imperfection, i usually place a phone call to the front desk to reach our room but on many occassions, my call went unanswered after more than 20 rings. Don't hotels have a policy of picking up a call within 3 rings or something like that?!

No matter, it was a great stay and I would gladly stay here again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the higher floors to get a view of the Forbidden City. Our room was on the 5th flo...

This relatively new hotel is situated in the heart of Beijing: nice to walk around but getting a taxi at rush hours could be difficult.
The room design was refreshing and facilities were new; but there were a few details revealing their not so good quality: the closet door could not be properly closed and sockets on the wall were not evenly aligned.
But I'd like to come back again for its good service. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

We took our very first trip to China with our three kids in December 2013. I found this accommodation on line and though it was more expensive than most it had more room and the location was amazing. I wanted out first time away to be positive and choosing this hotel was a big part of the success and enjoyment we had in Beijing. We had a two bedroom apartment that was much like a 5 star condo. The kitchen was properly appointed for us to eat (and cook if we wanted to) with a good sized fridge, stove and microwave. The rooms had blackout covers on the windows to allow us to manage the time change well and there was plenty of space with the living room area for us to play games, read and relax. The pool at this hotel was huge and beautiful. The location to the Forbidden city and Tiennamen square allowed us to walk around and enjoy the city more. We were within a block of the subway, an outdoor mall area, a traditional chinese market and the all important Starbucks in the mall. (they speak starbucks even in china!) I recommend this for anyone visiting Beijing but especially for those on their first trip as they get acclimatized to the food and culture. The staff were excellent and personally helped out even at 10 pm at night when my internet failed. Thank you for a fantastic experience. We hope to be back one day.

Room Tip: Call the hotel directly to get the best room. There are only a few 2 bedroom apartments per floor s...
