We ate there last night, and following recommendations, had the mule cocktail and the tea leaf salad. I found the salad rather addictive - a bit of hot pepper, some nice crunch, yummy. We also shared the wild vegetable rice cake which was served with a mild tomato sauce.

If you like fresh shrimp and hot pepper, order the hot and sour shrimp Served with the heads on, the shrimp were delicious.

Our only complaint was that the service seemed to be rushed as the dishes came out a bit fast.

I greatly enjoyed the food here, especially after two days of not getting a form grasp on dinner hours at other restaurants. Stopped here for lunch on my second full day in town and was treated to an excellent selection of Chinese and Thai options. The Lijan Beef was excellent, as were the vegetable spring rolls. High quality cocktails as well.

Lost Heaven never disappoints. Great food in a great atmosphere near Tiananmen Square. Try a Yunnan Mule for a pre dinner cocktail, served in a cool metal mug. A favourite is the tea leaf salad - it has a bit more kick to it than you would expect. All the food is delicious. Book a table ahead and ask for something in huge main floor - it is a bit quieter and more intimate. If you are 12 to 14 people, book the private room upstairs. And be sure to visit the toilets to wash your hands - the sinks are interesting!

Located just off Tiananmen Square in the same complex of the old US Embassy. Friendly staff and excellent food. We had an early lunch with friends. Very enjoyable

Crossing Tianamen Square to reach the complex housing this restaurant is in itself a great start to an evening. Although a little dark for those of us who need to fumble for reading glasses, the decor was wonderful; romantic and atmospheric. The cocktails were fabulous and everything we ordered was outstanding...including some unbelievable pork slices, perfectly spiced with a magical dipping sauce and beautifully cooked asparagus. Unbeknown to us we found we were also entitled to a 10% discount and free food platter just for using a MasterCard ! That was a first!
We are looking forward to trying to Find Heaven again on the Bund in Shanghai the day after tomorrow!!
