“good stay with a jobby twist”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

Myself and my holiday wife stayed here for 4 nights when in Beijing and the hotel was excellent for us. Indeed the bell boys were even willing when to give you a high five when you came in blazing at 6am and the reception staff willing to re-issue lost room cards despite the fact that we couldnt string a sentence together and had no ID
One negative point of our stay was having to step over what appeared to be a human jobby at the main door of the hotel early one morning. The turd had a hand print in it which makes me think someone had to fish it out their pants which makes me question the standard of guest that stays in this hotel.

I have been using this Hotel for many years. It has changed a bit and the general reception service has improved of late as they were shocking a few years back.

The last trip in April was fine with faster check-in and check-out times. Don't expect a super friendly reception as they are quite indifferent to foreigners but use it as a good utility/ business hotel and you will be fine.

The rooms are fine though slightly dated now, but nice large rooms and comfortable bed and bathrooms.

The Breakfast is good though they charge a high price for it. There are a few cafes nearby if you opt out of the breakfast.

The best thing is the location right near San Li Tun and the new Shopping areas and Yashow Market.

The door service is good and the guys will get you taxis to wherever but you can walk to many venues from the hotel.

We picked up this hotel because of its location. Much of the shopping and eating like The Village and Yashow market are within walking distance, and popular halal restaurants like Rumi, 1001 Nights and Turkish Mum right opposite. But in the frigid December cold walking was a torture. And to get right across the street to the restaurants we had to walk around 400-500 metres. The property itself is known to all older locals and have been quite popular with the comrades of yester decades but in today's Beijing there is no dearth of sparkling new hotels opening up all the time. Would not recommend this place as the staff as well as the F&B facilities were not up to the 5 star mark. Rooms too, were more like those of 3 star. Zhaolong is dull and dated and not recommended accept for its location.

Great location but the service and the competence of the local staff is still at the level of China in the 80's.
The staff and the management have a LONG learning curve to go through.
One example: the receptionist when I checked in claimed that I had no entry stamp on my passport. As if this were possible: to enter China, with a UA flight, with a valid visa but no entry stamp.
They called the police to have the confirmation that indeed I did enter China legally.
This cost me 2 hours wait till they would check me in, after an intercontinental flight.
Suggest the hotel hires staff who can read foreign passports.
Overall, this hotel is managed like a Chinese hotel of the 80's.

The Zhaolong hotel is not one of the fashion new hotel you can find in Beijing, but it is a good hotel 50 meters away from the subway station and 300 meters from the nightlife and from the Embassies quarter.
And you can find fair rates for different kind of rooms.

Í have stayed many times at Zhaolong and it has always been below expepectations. The service is not good and staff is spending most time of being unpolite to the customers or just sleeping or chatting to each others. This time they uped the price by 30% and motivating it by their need to seel expensive rooms.
There are may goodhotels around the area and do your self a favor by not going to Zhaolong

Room Tip: Dont stay here

The recebtion area of the hotel is well decorated. The rooms are clean, regular size. The bathroom was clean. The towels were changed regularly. The breakfast was tasty. Overall, a nice place to stay during a business trip. A big shopping center is located nearby.
