Is hard to explain to taxi drivers where it is(here taxi drivers know by hard the streets and dont use gps) so if the taxi driver doesnt know it,simply wont take you there.metro is about 1km away do is hard to get there with bags. On the positive: it is next to the forbiden city, staff is helpfull and speacks good english at least 1 person per turn,is clean with softish beds some wifi (if you get a room near the front desk it can reach your room) and cheap so your money gets a long way for all the features

This hotel is located in easy walk to several attractions, and between two subway stations easily reached, plus public bus literally at the door. Room was good and spacious, staff friendly but struggled with English. Breakfast was expensive. One of best assets was Joe the concierge; he was so helpful, a real gem amongst the Chinese!

Hotel is very close the Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, and is very affordable! Rooms were nice and we had all that we needed for our 3 nights there. Nothing amazing but this hotel did the trick.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Our room was amazing. Staff friendly but didn't speak much English, so when we got stuck we asked in the business centre opposite reception. The breakfast was good & I loved the light airy room it was served in. On our second day we didn't have a guide & found it very easy the get around. We ate in a restaurant over the road form the hotel that had very good food. We had been told about chop stick etiquette& don't think we offended anyone. Nice hotel.

Room Tip: There is no real view from this hotel, we had a quite room at the back.

Upon arrival, the hotel took a deposit from my credit card which was to be refunded upon our departure less any unpaid charges we may incur. We had already pre-paid our rooms via hotels.com.

At the time of check out our balance was clear and the refund was to be processed for the full deposit when we handed our keys in. The clerk proceeded to fiddle with the credit card machine for a few minutes before informing me that their system was down and he would refund the deposit by the next day --we had to leave to catch a flight. We had otherwise had a relatively positive experience with the staff, so we took the front-desk clerk at his word. Weeks later there was still no refund issued on the card. I attempted on multiple occasions to contact the hotel directly to resolve, but received no response. Left with no other option, I'm now months later dealing directly with my credit card to dispute this fraudulent charge.

Travellers beware to document all transactions with this hotel and seek management support and/or your credit card issuer if you feel the staff is acting suspiciously.

I spent four nights In Beijing and stayed in Jade Garden Hotel in February 2013. I booked quite late and needed a decent room, quite centrally located. Ended up booking a double bed since the price was very good. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. My room was quite nice, even better than I expected. Big double bed and LCD TV, tea kettle, small bathroom with shower, partly view towards the Forbidden City as well. It was a good value for money.

Great location for city attractions. Wangfujing shopping street, Tiananmen, Forbidden city all in walking distances.
Nice old style room, probably needing an update. They do not have non-smoking room as we had asked for non-smoking but was only offered a less smoky room.
Tried to use the room computer, but on signing into my email account I was promptly advised that my account was also being viewed on a different computer.
Hotel needs to review their security. On our departure, we were advised that our transport had arrived on the phone, only to get a knock at the door, almost immediately after, from the driver, whom we did not know
Nobody smiles in this hotel. When you pass reception all eyes are on the desk or computer screens
