“Good Location, Good Service, Affordable Price”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

Perfect from the beginning till the end. Picked up by Hotel Car from the Airport on 1.30am, arrive in the hotel and welcome by a super friendly check-in lady staff, get an offer for upgrade to family room including extra bed+breakfast+20% disc for hotel car with affordable price.
Spacious hotel room, bathroom, good breakfast and responsive in-room service (nice cheese pizza). Good location: 5 minutes walk to Dengshikou MRT station, 5 minutes to Duck De Cine at 1949 club, 10 minutes walk to Wangfujing Street. A cross the hotel there's a good dumpling (dumpling ONLY, not recommended for other dishes) restaurant with very affordable price.
And finally drop off to Beijing Sout Railway station at 7am on the last day.
The minus point only: no swimming pool.

Enjoyed out stay while in Beijing. Everyone spoke English and were always very helpful. The breakfast buffet was well worth the extra. If you left hungry something was wrong. Just a nice experience for our first stay in the country.

Nice hotel and good value compared with other hotels slightly closer to Wanfujing Street. Well kept and clean, nice staff. Check in and out was swift. Coffee is an expensive drink in China, £4 for a cappuccino, so it may be worth upgrading to include unlimited tea and coffee, and soft drinks, and breakfast, for us £29 per room per day. The breakfast was the best we had in China - plenty of choice. Was within walking distance to Wangfujing Street. Watch out for the traffic when crossing roads in China. Even if the green man is showing, look left, because cars / bikes do not always stop.

Park Plaza Wangfujing is a quiet hotel with good amenities and very pleasant staff. The front desk staff and concierge speak good English and are very helpful. Expect no room upgrades though unless you pay extra for an upgraded room which includes breakfast, snacks and unlimited drinks. We had to pay half the room rate to be able to check out at 6pm as our flight is a red eye. Late check out is at 2pm with no charge. Later than 6pm check out will be charges whole day room rate.
The hotel is conveniently situated right across two of the famous Peking duck restaurants Da Dong (5th Flr of Jinbao Plaza) and the beautiful historic 1949 (across Jinbao Plaza). It is a 15 minute walk to Wangfujing Market, where the malls are. Taxi to Wangfujing cost 20RMB It is a 15 minute taxi ride to Tiananmen and Forbidden City. Taxi to Tainanmen and Forbidden City will cost around 30RMB. Taxi ride to the zoo, which is further than Tianenman is around 40RMB.
For breakfast, if on a budget and on time constraint, Starbucks is right across the hotel. It opens 7am. There are restaurants to the left of the hotel, a hotpot and a chinese restaurants which opens 11 am. There are no other restaurants or stores in the vicinity that are open for breakfast which is the only drawback in the hotel’s location. Bloo restaurant located at the 4th floor of the hotel is a bit expensive. There is also a bar at the lobby. Only car showrooms and a couple of hotels are in the neighborhood. There is a convenience store with a pastry shop beside it a block away. Ask the concierge who will gladly give you directions.
Beware tuktuk and taxi rides who take advantage of tourists when on the way back to the hotel from a tourist spot . They charge you 100RMB especially when it is raining or rush hour. Haggle and they will bring it down to 40RMB. Tuktuk rides can be faster during rush hour but can accommodate only 2 people.
During our stay, the hotel offered us a day tour to Mings Tomb and Great Wall for 400RMB. I highly recommend that you take it. We were planning to take the taxi to the great wall but it is too far away and will cost 400RMB just to go there one way. It is a lot safer to take the offered tour in an airconditioned van that includes a tour guide, a visit to Ming’s tomb, lunch at the Jade factory and finally the Great Wall. We left 730am and were back at the hotel at 530pm.

I stayed 4 nights at the Park Plaza and it is a great hotel. Well located close to subway, Forbidden City,Tianmen Square, shops and fabulous local HuTong for street food and sightseeing. It was very quiet, best pillow choice I have ever seen in any hotel and excellent staff. Quiet air-conditioning, very clean room and the staff were generally happy to help. They responded really quickly to my few emailed questions about tours and airport pick up before I arrived. Airport pick up worked like a breeze. Jessie is a fabulous concierge and I recommend this hotel for its value, location and quality.

As far as im concerned there is no where else to stay. i must admit the rooms are getting a little tired, but the location is perfect. A short walk to the walking st and a short ride to the pearl and silk market.

The prices cant be beaten. A starbucks is right out the front. Not cheap, but a great option for a quick coffee!

Room Tip: All are good. I always get the standard room as im not in the room very long.

This is an incredibly central and convenient location – short walk to shops, restaurants and to markets; even walk to the Forbidden City if you wish. We stayed four nights - the room was quiet, with more comfortable beds and pillows than anywhere else we stayed in China. Even the air-conditioning worked well and stayed on overnight. Apart from the desk, there was a small table and two armchairs to relax in which we really appreciated. There was a good shower over the bath. Breakfast buffet was OK – satisfactory but nothing to rave about. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and generally spoke pretty good English. We found the hotel laundry prices expensive.

We frequently walked to the nearby APM shopping Centre for the Ole supermarket and cafes. Also to the Wangfujing Market for an evening stroll to try the variety of foods on offer – the dumplings are delicious; lamb and beef on skewers is tasty and there is lots of seafood on offer. Overall, really enjoyed our stay at the Park Plaza – no real complaints; would certainly stay here again.
