“Great stay in Beijing”
Reviewed 12 July 2014

This is the second time we stayed at the Park Plaza in Beijing and we were not disappointed. The first time was seven years ago and the service and the facilities are just as amazing as they were from the first visit. We traveled with 2 children this time and the hotel was extremely accommodating to our children. The location is fantastic and close to several good restaurants. The one bedroom suites are very spacious and perfect for a family of 4. Breakfast had a wide variety of offerings and was very tasty. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Beijing.

Room Tip: A one bedroom suite is perfect for a family of 4.

I stayed hear on my business trip, this hotel is ideally located near all the important places and the subway is just next door. I recommend city travel by subway, its easy and fun (if you don't hate walking - walking - walking)

Staff is warm and helpful.

Room Tip: Deluxe room is good and reasonably priced.

The hotel location is great, it's within walking distance to main shopping and entertainment area of Beijing. The staff, which mostly spoke english, was helpful, the rooms are nice and the breakfast buffet is impressive. The only complaint I had was they didn't have a suit press or the ability to press a suit.

Lovely hotel with really nice staff although they are quite young and not used to western ways. It takes a very long time to get a drink (especially a cocktail) at the bar but somehow it is part of their charm. Couldn't do enough for us although they didn't always understand what we wanted apart from the consierge area where the staff were really helpful and spoke good English. TV remote didn't seem to be working and they sent three people to check it out! Lovely staff, very clean and comfortable.

Room Tip: Not sure, ours was great

We spent three nights here. We had booked online without breakfast. On arrival we were told if we became Club line members for a little extra than the cost of breakfast a day we would get upgraded room happy hour and buffet breakfast. It was great. Happy Hour was some spirits and red and white wine with enough to eat to suffice dinner just lovely. Our Ron was very large too location great 10 minutes to the walking street which we visited at night. There was night markets with both food and Chinese merchandise. Ashame there is so much pollution.

This hotel was our first stop on a 12-day tour of China. It was an upgrade (and a fairly pricey one) from the standard hotel offered by our tour operator, Pacific Holidays (NY), but I think it was worth the difference. Because of the great location, our tour bus did not have to drive very far to any of the must-see sights, although traffic was a nightmare.

Fabulous breakfast buffet had a wide range of western and Chinese dishes, including dim sum dumplings and noodles. Fresh fruit (including lychee nuts, dragon fruit, and mangos) and good juices too. There was more than enough choices for everyone in our party, which included 2 senior citizens, 2 exhausted mothers, 3 teenagers and a 9 yr-old. The breakfast was one of the best of our trip. We had an early morning flight out and had to leave before the restaurant opened and they packed us a breakfast to go.

The hotel is located off the main road - and there several good restaurants on the connecting road. Mostly locals dining, helps to have someone who can speak Chinese as the servers have limited English. We had lunch in one of the restaurants down the street (something Kitchen - no reviews on TA) for about $40 (for 8 people).

Down the street is the Wanfujing Night Snack Market - a must for American tourists. Fried scorpion, starfish, and snake on a stick. It's like the Minnesota State Fair, where you can get just about anything on a stick. I never saw anyone actually eat the scary stuff, but you will not see it anywhere else. See pictures on this review. Kids thought it was awesome - the scorpions on a stick were still alive. If we were in the states, PETA would surely protest.

If you can, try and schedule a bike tour of the hutongs. Best way to see the older areas. We scheduled one through our tour operator but it was obvious that was not a normal request. Bikes are less prevalent now in Beijing, now that more Chinese can afford cars. It's easy to get lost in the hutongs so we definitely needed a guide. Lonely Planet recommends Bike Beijing.

Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect from the beginning till the end. Picked up by Hotel Car from the Airport on 1.30am, arrive in the hotel and welcome by a super friendly check-in lady staff, get an offer for upgrade to family room including extra bed+breakfast+20% disc for hotel car with affordable price.
Spacious hotel room, bathroom, good breakfast and responsive in-room service (nice cheese pizza). Good location: 5 minutes walk to Dengshikou MRT station, 5 minutes to Duck De Cine at 1949 club, 10 minutes walk to Wangfujing Street. A cross the hotel there's a good dumpling (dumpling ONLY, not recommended for other dishes) restaurant with very affordable price.
And finally drop off to Beijing Sout Railway station at 7am on the last day.
The minus point only: no swimming pool.
