Location is unbeatable for sightseeing and all the amenities are great. Not a super-luxury type hotel, but enough to make a long day less stressful. The club floor rooms are well worth the premium, as they allow access to the private club lounge facility. There's a business center, lounge area with library and happy hour drinks/hors-douvres. Rooms are spacious, very nicely furnished and comfortable.
Breakfast is a must, as the selection of both East and West is substantial.
Would definitely recommend and return to this hotel

This was my second stay at Park Plaza and as perfect as my last. Key points:
1) Location: Situated directly above the 2 Line subway, the only way to efficiently move about the city; great local food - visit Sunny's directly across from entrance or new Da Dong at Jin Bao Plaza mall; visit hutong behind hotel for view of acient Beijing - area was historical grain storage for Forbidden City and includes former senior residences
2) Breakfast Buffet: Completely worth the upgrade to Club level; a superb mix of West and East
3) Club Level: Great Happy Hour and exceptional staff; free internet
4) Rooms: Clean and comfortable
5) Staff: Exceptional; arranged private car to Great Wall for less than bus tour, provided breakfast take-away for early morning departure

This place was perfect. I booked it on Expedia and got a great rate. I highly recommend being on the club floor, you get the breakfast buffet and all you can drink happy hours from 5:30-7:30. The liquors available were Johnny Walker Red, Bacardi Rum, and Gin and Vodka brands that weren't high end, but they weren't bottom of the barrel brands. Red and White wines are also available if you ask.
After first arriving we got a welcome drink of ginger tea. Apparently you can't make a reservation for the famous duck restaurant Da Dong before 6pm, but if you plan on going for Lunch/Early dinner definitely ask the concierge to make a reservation for you. I didn't have a reservation and I had to wait over an hour at the restaurant.
The concierge was very helpful, my favorite was Alex. Sometimes I got the look of " what are you talking about" but after a little bit of explaining they always figured out what I was trying to say.
There is a popular "jiao zi" place that is a 10 min walk from the hotel its called " Dong Fang Jiao Zi Wang" They are made to order dumplings and they have an ENGLISH MENU! This is a chain place, but it's good. Don't forget to try the pan friend ones. Ask the concierge to give you directions and they should give you a printed Park Plaza business card with a map that you can follow.
This hotel is very close to the subway station, the subway is a bit of a mad house so be prepared to be up close to other passengers. Reminds me of the Tokyo trains. Each subway ride is only 2 yuan. BUT you can only start the subway ride at the same station that you bought the ticket from. I bought a few thinking I was going to save time, but soon found out that I can't use the ticket I bought from a different station.
One thing that I don't recommend is the massage service in the hotel. It is 350 yuan which is many times more than what you can find elsewhere in the city. My husband was expecting a WOW massage but said it was lacking in pressure and the girl wanted to chat with him in English when he was there to just relax.
Overall, you will not be disappointed in this hotel, English friendly, clean, and central location.

This is a great hotel to stay in Beijing for its location, good room, and great price. I stayed here from Dec 28-31, 2010 in a room over looking the beautiful courtyard. It's walking distanct to the Forbidden City, Wangfujing, and the night market. Best of all, there's a Starbucks right outside the hotel and Da Dong Peking Duck in the building across the street. The room was clean and modern with a nice comfy bed and free internet service. Bathroom was also nice and clean. Hotel reception was courteous and professional and concierge was really helpful in getting us cabs in the freezing winter. Will definitely stay in this hotel again if we come back to Beijing.

The Plaza is located almost literally on top of on of Beijing's inner city subway, attached to the Regent hotel, in a very up-market part of town. Given the location, the price was quite reasonable, even though it was the low season.

It is less than three subway stops from Tiananmen Square/Forbidden City and a couple of stops from where the airport express terminates, so it's very convenient to get around.

Staff were very helpful, and gave us good advice on how to reach the Summer Palace via subway, and they recommended a top restaurant nearby which was very good as well.

The room was quite large, and it was quiet and clean. We had free Internet access and bottled water daily. The beds were comfortable by Chinese standards, and the room was cleaned daily.

Checking in and out was accomplished promptly and efficiently, and hotel is well appointed and fairly easy to locate from street level. The location makes this hotel an excellent choice when visiting Beijing.

We stayed in Beijing at the park Plaza, from 28 December 2010 to 1 Jan 2011. My wife, daughter and grand daughter and I! First time in Beijing, but 5th trip to China for me! This hotel is excellent, from the reception to the room staff to the restaurant staff etc! We had two rooms on the same floor, the view is not great as there are other hotels alongside, so you can only see other buildings from rooms on the 10th floor! No problems, location is great in the shopping precint. Not far from Tianenmen and the Forbidden Palace! The rooms whilst not huge were sufficient for our needs and in excelklent condition. Clean and tidy at all times, refreshed daily with whatever was required! Free internet broadband, a must for business people and family alike!
Breakfast was an experience and anyone who has stayed in China will know that the breakfast buffet can be great or a disaster! At Park Plaza Wanfujing, it is great!
The restaurant "Oodles" is worth a visit even if you do not stay at this hotel. Our family are noodle fans and all agreed this was the best noodles meal we had ever enjoyed, and that is a huge statement from out point of view! We dined here three of 5 meals, value is good and presentation and taste excellent. If someone could only teach the Chinese about red wines not being chilled all the time it would be even better.
Staff at reception are top notch, concierge and doorman just as good. If I had to be picky and find fault the only fault I can find is that their chefs do not understand how to cook bacon! I love bacon with breakfast and no chef in China seems to know how it should be cooked! Pretty petty complaint overall. I really like this hotel and would certainly stay here again when next in Beijing.

We all enjoyed our stay here. The location is probably what makes it so great. It is very close to Wangfujing streeat for shopping, attractions, and MTR is just across the street. Hotel staff was helpful, as most spoke English. As other people say the arrange whatever you may need, dinner, taxi, or tours. Thanks to them we had our dinner reservations! (duck) They also arranged for us to take a private car to Great Wall and Ming Tombs. The private car was nice and clean car. But the driver did not speak English and we could not communicate with him. But as for his driving and takings us to both attractions he did just that. The next day we hired some other company for our tours. It was half the price the hotel charged for car and driver! The big plus was that we had a young lady who spoke English as a tour guide. Yes the car was a little old but clean and with good heater! We should have hired them to our Great Wall and Ming tomb trip for half the price!
Breakfast was good, lots to choose from. Rooms were nice and clean. We had no problems with the heater as someone else mentioned. I would recommend this hotel for a hassle free Beijing stay. You will enjoy it as much as we did. Oh, and do book online we did Expedia as hotel website can be too expensive.
