“Great Ritz Carlton in Beijing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

Stayed club level with family. Had very nice room and the club level was awesome. Son really enjoyed the club and getting many choices for food. Met Bob McAdoo while he was traveling with USA youth basketball team. Staff super helpful. Very good location, right next to high-end mall.

I stayed one night here and was just bowled over by the fabulous service and amenities. As one would expect, the hotel lobby, restaurants and common areas were immaculate and beautifully designed. As were the rooms. What made the difference was the service!
Im not a Marriott/Ritz VIP though I do have some status but i found flowers and fruit in my room and a lovely note by the manager. Everyone knew who i was in the hotel and i enjoyed a great meal in their eastern restaurant as well as an amazing breakfast. What a splurge!
Mantei - their customer care professional was just that - the epitome of customer care.

We stayed here a couple of days at the end of our stay in Beijing. After dealing with the smoggy air, climbing the thousands of stairs at the Great Wall, and the hundreds of places for sightseeing, this place is just devine and much needed.

The service is what you expect from the Ritz Carlton group. From the bell boys, the front desk persons, to the managers, the service was incredible. The check in was quick, fast, and painless. We were quickly taken to our rooms to shower and freshen up before stepping out for a meal.

The location is in the middle of a high end of Beijing. There is a high end mall and high end places to eat, in the area. Din Tai Fung, for dim sum at the mall next door, you'll be glad you went. The area is also safe and secure. We walked around late in the evening, and did not feel unsafe. The hotel has alot of security as well.

The room was huge, plush, and shi shi shi. The beds were huge, soft, and comfortable. The room is clean and decorated in typical Ritz fashion (a little older feeling). The room has lots of amenities and buttoms responsible for different things in the room. The room itself is also large with lots of space. It feels good to spread out and kinda of explode all over the place.

The bathroom just begs to be used, if that makes sense. There is a huge soak in tub with bath salts provided. The shower stall has great water pressure and a shaving ledge. The toilet is seperate in its own glass encased stall. The hair dryer of good quality and actually dries your hair.

This is real five star luxury.

Our stay In Beijing' s Ritz is wonderful. Incredibly spacious rooms, a bathroom that is amazing, and a fabulous breakfast buffet is beyond compare. It just doesn't get any better! I would suggest a visit in Spring or Fall. Temperature is near 100 degrees today.

We stayed 5 nights at the Ritz-Carlton Beijing recently and although we were looking forward to home after a reasonable period away, we were definitely sad to leave when time came. The hotel is well located centrally in Beijing's business district in the 4th ring road but the staff is what makes the difference.

We arranged for pick up upon arrival at Beijing airport and were greeted at the disembarkation gate by the hotel's agent, escorted through immigration, customs and bag collection to our waiting car which whisked us away to the hotel. Upon arrival, guest relations met us at the entrance and escorted us straight to our room where check-in details were sorted. After a long flight in, this was definitely a great start to our time in Beijing.

Our king deluxe room (ca. NZD350 per night) on the 10th floor, had views overlooking the hotel's garden patio and front entrance. The room and bathroom was spacious with French influence decor. There was ample cupboard and wardrobe space and one of the most comfortable beds! A fruit platter was placed discretely by the lounge chair which was refilled everyday. I loved the vase of flowers that gave the room a personal touch.

Buffet breakfast was included in our room tariff and served in the Aroma Cafe. The wide selection of choices spanned European and Asian options, and service was efficient even at peak times. There are two formal restaurants in the hotel - Barolo for Italian and Yu for high end Chinese cuisine. We dined twice at Yu for dinner to sample the vast menu as we loved the food. We especially liked the crispy roast pork belly (one of the best we have had), the chilled dragon bean entree and the steamed egg white with dried scallops but all the dishes we had were extremely good, fresh and well presented. Prices start from 800RMB and is dependent on what is ordered. Waiting staff were alert to diner needs without being obtrusive. Yu was popular with locals - always a good testament to a restaurant.

The spa at the Ritz-Carlton is a must try if you are a fan of spas. There is a good range of treatments offered in a relaxing and welcoming environment with trained friendly therapists. Opening hours are between 10 am to 2 am! The gym is located next to the spa for those interested.

The concierge and guest relations staff are knowledgable and were very helpful in providing tips for outings and suggestions. Guest relations especially went out of their way to fulfil queries. Housekeeping deserves a mention for their meticulous service. Checking out was as painless as checking in which completed a fantastic experience at the Ritz-Carlton.

The hotel is opposite a shopping centre for luxury designer goods but good shopping precincts are 25-30 minutes away, including the well known Wangfujing Street and 30-45 minutes from Tiananmen Square, the Summer Palace and the Hutong, depending on traffic.

We enjoyed our stay at the Ritz-Carlton tremendously and highly recommend it. Although it was chosen as it was the conference hotel for the event my husband was attending, it would be just as neat for a holiday as couples or families. We will certainly be returning the next time we are in Beijing for a holiday. The hotel is one which makes a trip away memorable.

Room Tip: Higher floors are good partly for the view of the city.

This hotel is really 5 star and every detail is catered to. We held a customer event here so utilized the restaurants, hotel staff for airport pick-up, food and conference rooms. The breakfast and lunch is Aroma is also very nice although it is a lot of food so be ready to stuff yourself as it is a buffet and has an extraordinary selection for a relatively small hotel. Every one of our 20 or so customers was highly One example is I left my computer cord out on the desk and when I came back from my meetings, there was a mouse pad, my cords were nicely organized in a zip-top bag and the desk was cleaned off so there was room for all my work and computer stuff (incredible attention to detail). The gym is quite small with only 4 treadmills, 3 elliptical, 1 bike and a few weight machines but it is in great condition and is next to a very relaxing spa and pool. The only downside is that the bed is really hard. It is like that across most of Asia but at this nice of a hotel, I really want a pillow-top comfy mattress.

This hotel fullfills most expectations for a Ritz hotel. The rooms are modernly furnished, the room service is quick and decent, the cleaning service is quick and efficient and the service in general is flexible towards your needs. The chinese restaurant in the hotel is a must, though pricey for Beijing standards.
The only chriticism is the that they charged my credit card in my home currency without asking, which obviously cost me money. Also the standard of English of some staff was not very good.
