“The one great for business traveller”
Reviewed 4 October 2012

Me and husband stayed 3 nights here. We had a wonderful stay. The club on 26th floor is awsome. I had a meeting in the club with my co-worker and we really obtained a world-class service. The happy hours is very, very memoriable! We really enjoy the breakfast at 26th floor which brought us endless energy of the day. More, do not miss the pool at 5th floor, it is a really good one compare with another Westion in China. You can feel the warm fall sunset embrace you while you are swimming and skeching your body in the pool. How nice the feeling is! I tried the Eric Saloon, and the hair stylist, Kim provide me a professional service. I highly recommend this hotel for business traveller and of course, I will choose it for my next trip in Beijing!

I was checked into room 1720. They claimed they upgraded me. My wife and I went to sleep. I turned on the bathroom light at 2AM and my wife woke up? Why you might ask? There is a window facing into the bathroom from the bedroom. There are blinds but they were broken so I could not shut them and block the light. I sent an email to Weston Hotels asking for a hotel executive to call my cell. The night clerk called the room phone and woke my wife for a second time. I explained that I wanted a hotel executive not a night clerk and not to call the room again. 10 minutes a different night clerk called the room. The hotel manager called my cell just before noon. He was apologetic and offered a room upgrade. He agreed to refund the money and points paid. Any outstanding hotel should refund money paid when they fail to live up to their standards. A room upgrade is a sham to avoid being accountable.

Room Tip: Check your room carefully before going to sleep.

We stayed here for 3 nights when in Beijing for a business conference. Located in the financial street area, it is far from the tourist areas but in a quiet area. It is a posh and well-maintained hotel- the rooms are very spacious and clean. it is about 10-20 min from the Fuxingmen/Fuchengmen metro stations by walk. There are not many attractions/ restaurants nearby.

The breakfast choices include Chinese, Western food and lots of fresh fruit- loved the dragon fruit here! Food at the hotel is rather expensive as expected. It has a lot of world cuisine- but not many vegetarian options as we returned late mostly. From the night menu, we tried rice with Indian lentils and it wasn't that great. But the spaghetti was pretty good.

The front desk staff are helpful. We had left a battery charger behind and had requested it to be given to another colleague. It had been given to the colleague but we had to make so many calls to confirm if it was given and narrate our story to different front desk personnel many times. They did arrange for breakfast to be packed as we left really early which was nice of them.

Overall, it is a nice business hotel. If you have business nearby, then this would be a great place to stay. But if you are in Beijing as a tourist, traveling around might be a little difficult. Traveling to and back from the temple of heaven took us about an hour and a half!

There is a nice fountain as you walk to the Ritz-Carlton hotel (which is where the conference was) from the Westin. It comes up after 15 min or so at set times and it was pretty nice.

Dear 2tuppence_worth,

Thank you for sharing your pleasant experiences and detailed recommendation with us and others on Trip Advisor.
We are delighted to learn that our food and beverage and services complemented your trip here. Though the area immediately surrounding the hotel may not be as lively as other areas of the city in the East, the hotel does place its guests at least close to some of the the city’s world famous attractions, sightseeing and entertainment, including Tiananmen Square, the
Forbidden City and Xi’dan shopping district. We would be happy to assist you in exploring these places on a future visit.

We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

Stay Well,

Stayed 4 days. Absolutely first class accommodations, services, and dining experiences. Staff was highly professional and knowledgeable. Breakfast is buffet with American, Chinese, and other oriental foods. Dinner is buffet or a la carte with wonderful food choices. Facility is relatively new and extremely well maintained. Room thermostat kept room comfortable during the day, but tended to make the room warm over night.

Hotel Manager Cynthia Wang and her great team at the 26th floor - Executive Lounge made my first visit in Beijing very.very......very memorable!!!
All six days of my stay was filled with impeccable service and extremely delightful experience. The staff recognize my face after one visit at the lounge and delivered "long time old friend" type of greetings with a smile since. From Eric's (*great drink) to Sean's (*truly genuine client service) to Darcy's (*nothing is impossible attitude) and Daisy's sweet smile, I would definitely recommend anyone to experience the 26th floor service first hand.
For most travellers, we all frown for 5 stars hotels that has poor drainage and pissing shower. Westin BJ Financial Street has the strongest shower and best drainage I have experienced. Room is kept clean and tidy pronto everyday. Overall a joy to stay at for my first visit to BJ. I will definitely return for another visit!

Stayed here four nights for work. I was in room 2111, which overlooked a square and mall, a decent view.

The room had a very clean bathroom, but I could not figure out how to get the overhead shower to work. Not a huge deal, I like the handheld one better. There is a safe in the room above the minibar which is large enough for your normal stuff needed to be locked up. The bed was super comfortable. However, for a modern hotel I was disappointed that there is only one outlet which has a universal plug connector. It's on the desk so not the end of the world.

The breakfast buffet was huge. Massive. It was great, and there was always plenty of seating.

There is not much around the hotel. At least not right near by. If you exit the front and walk diagonally to the intersection, head to the street on your left. After one block there is a Starbucks, a TGIF, and a bunch of other stuff. Most importantly, there is a 24 hour convenience store and a pharmacy. Just follow the signs on your left and snake your way down the stairs.

The best part about the hotel is that it was nice just to relax. Beijing traffic is so awful. It took us an hour each way to go to the client sites from the office. After work we went to the Bird's Nest, and that took two hours. So needless to say, once back in the hotel, I slept like a baby.

Room Tip: Room 2111 was very good.

Dear Azhkman,

Thank you very much for sharing your detailed experience with us and others here on Trip Advisor.

We are pleased to learn that one of Westin’s signature features - The Heavenly Bed - added to your comfort after a tiring day on the road. It is also a delight that our breakfast buffet spread was able to impress.

It is regretful to hear that you were not able to enjoy our overhead rainforest shower; we hope we will have an opportunity to also introduce this Westin feature to you and make your next stay with us even more relaxing.

We thank you once more for your kind words of appreciation.

Stay Well,

Should it be in the right part of town, this hotel is luxurious, clean, has English speaking staff (a novelty in a lot of China), a few shop, spa, gym and pool and the biggest choice of breakfasts I've ever seen, all of which was fresh and delicious. There was also fresh fruit in the room and plenty of bottles of complementary water. Drinks and food not included can be pretty expensive.
Plenty of lounge areas for meetings or mingling, with live music in the evenings and tai chi in the mornings !!
Rooms have all mod cons (we had views of motorway, but no noise) There was a really comfy bed, bath and shower, lots of complementary bits in the bathroom, and soft robes. Alarm clock and a number of other items available via concierge if you forget things. The hotel also offers complementary shoe shining. Leave shoes outside door on special mat and they’ll return them to you shiny !

Main tip would be to make sure that if visiting on business that your meetings will in fact be in this area. If you are visiting for tourism, this is not in a suitable area for easy access to the sights of Beijing. Navigating the city takes literally hours and although not too expensive, can shave valuable time from your trip. The hotel is not in the main hub of the city. We ended up with a few meetings about 5km away, and spent 3 hours in a car as a consequence.
About 45 mins from the airport, recommend this hotel for business travellers working in the area.

Dear WorldMoocher,

Thanks for posting such a wonderful review here on Trip Advisor.

We are delighted to hear that our hotel facilities, and especially, our Westin signature products, the Heavenly Bed, rainforest shower and Unwind added to the comfort of your stay.

The praise towards our breakfast buffet spread in the title of your review is naturally taken on board with a big smile. Thank you!

To further build on your recommendation to other travelers with regards to the surrounding area, we are located within the Financial Street with many major banking institutions nearby and within close proximity to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and Xidan Shopping District, giving an opportunity to unwind from the immediate surrounding atmosphere of a business district.

Thank you for staying with us. We would enjoy to welcome you back again soon for yet another renewed experience.
