Have stayed here four or five times for about a week, while teaching at the university. Hotel is clean, rooms are OK, modern and business-like with big flat-screen TV (Chinese channels, but with HDMI/VGA connection so you can connect your laptop and watch your own films if you want), slow but free Wifi, very hard Chinese-style mattresses and overall quiet. Frequented mostly by university-affiliated groups (conferences, etc.). Breakfast and lunch are buffet style with selection of Chinese and Western dishes, dinner a-la-carte. Restaurant very recently restyled: modern and clean but not my choice for an evening out. Staff are friendly but with very few exceptions speak only Chinese (I don't, but haven't had any difficulties). BUPT campus offers a good nearby Maan coffeeshop, cheap student dining and a rather expensive basement gym which I can't recommend. Nearest good supermarket is about a 20 minute walk (or maybe I overlooked something), and so is the metro (for sure), which is for me the main disadvantage (next to hard beds). Overall quite acceptable, but I wouldn't go here as a tourist mainly because it is out of the way. The brothel story I read about in another review is absolute nonsense, at least since I started coming here in 2011.

My boyfriend was studying at the University across the street, thus the location was convenient for us. However, in comparison to everything else, the hotel is far. Luckily, taxis are very inexpensive. Bank, grocery market, restos in vicinity. Clean rooms. Communication issues with Chinese staff that barely understands or speaks English.

Location is not too bad... close to university campus so there is a cheap cafeteria, street vendors, etc. nearby. Edible. You're not close to anything but taxis are so cheap!
The hotel rooms were filthy yet not too old/tired. Beds felt like sleeping on a board. Never enough toilet paper, tissues etc. and we never got more, even if we asked.
Breakfast is only chinese breakfast: soup and noodles and rice. Every other day they would whip out a toaster and some bread to make toast. Always fresh cut watermelon. Plus I learned later on that they charged us 50 yuan a night for that junk... and 50 yuan can get you reaaaally good food elsewhere in Beijing.
They say there is karaoke on the second floor: beware! This is a brothel. The «health club» was never open in the whole 5 weeks I was there.
The staff didn't speak english, except one cute girl that was at the front desk sometimes. She was very nice and helpful - I cannot remember her number though. (They had number tags instead of name tags).
