“Could not recommend this place enough!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 November 2011

We had such a lovely time in Beijing and one of the biggest reasons was Hotel Cote Cour. The hutong location was perfect and off the beaten path. You felt like you were staying someplace secret and special and tucked away. The rooms were tastefully decorated and provided warmth in the October chilly weather. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast in the morning was delicious!!! I hesitate to recommend this place because I hope it does not get too popular...don't want it to be full when I come back again to Beijing!

Great location. Unique opportunity to experience hutong life which is in decline . Haven of calm in hectic Beijing . Super breakfast . Very polite staff. Only word of caution is that it can be unnerving late at night arriving to a hotel in a warren of alley ways. Howevere once the sun rises you realise you were safe all the time.

Cote Cour provided an oasis home amid the bustle of Beijing, and getting to walk through the alleys of the hutong provided us not only a glimpse into life today in Beijing, but also numerous spots to eat after a day of touring. The breakfasts excelled, the rooms were clean, tidy, and the friendly staff exceeded our expectations. The interior courtyard provided a restful spot to wind down and plan for the upcoming day--and the resident cats really made this seem like home. We've traveled to China numerous times, but this trip--because of Cote Cour--was exceptional!

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent!

We had great time at Cote cour. Came for business trip having meeting at the Regent Hotel nearby, and cote cour is nearby and a better choice for my wife and i to have a taste of real Beijing. We rented bicycles from hotel and went to Temple of Heaven and Tian an men in about 15 min.. Byking is a much better way to travel from and tO the hotel than taxis which were hard to find.

This is probably the best hotel in the Hutong, high class with great staff.

I recommend highly for business or pleasure, for people who do not mind some walking or byking to reach hotel

Tucked away down an old hutong, where you can see glimpses of old Beijing life. Not as plush nor as bland as a corporate five star, the rooms have character and charm, and the courtyard is an oasis after the overscaled bustle of Beijing. Breakfast is cooked for you every morning, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Taxi drivers can find it hard to find, but the short walk along the hutong is full of interest.

This small hotel turns out to be a real gem in the heart of Beijing. As a boutique hotel, this place truly delivers a peaceful and well-staffed experience for the guests. The front desk is extremely helpful, friendly and understands English. For the cat lovers, there are 3 lovely, clean, healthy cats hanging out in the courtyard. We had the superior suite and enjoyed its spaciousness and the commodious armoire and dresser for our clothes storage. Our only concern is that they recaulk in the bathroom where the tub meets the wall; something they can easily take are of. Hotel Cote Cour is an elegant place without all the newbie pretensions. It's a very practical, workable, colorful and charming hotel. The other guests were all Western folk, friendly-enough, and happy in Beijing. There is no restaurant on the premises but make an advance reservation and the hotel chef will cook for you a delicious Hangzhou-inspired set dinner.

My husband and I stayed at this boutique hotel for 6 nights in September 2011. I absolutely loved the location of this hotel, in a Hutong. Its a much better and unique experience compared to staying at a Hilton or Hyatt.
The decor of this hotel is amazing, loved the way the rooms and the ensuites have been done. The breakfast/lounge area is so charming, so well designed and done up. The girls are so helpful, the staff always have a smile on their face.
At the end of a busy and hectic day sightseeing, it was a relief and a pleasure coming back to the quite of the Hutong and sitting in the courtyard of this hotel and sipping a tea.
For those of you, who do not like walking the Hutong to the main streets, the hotel provides a free tricycle service to the main streets on either side of the Hutong.
Coudnt find a fault with this place, the definite highlight was the interior design and decor.
