The hotel is somewhat overrated--#2 of all the hotels in Beijing? It is nice enough, although the rooms were somewhat dark (especially the bathroom). It is a nice courtyard house, and the staff was very nice and attentive. However, the location is somewhat of a negative. It has become nearly impossible to get taxis in Beijing these days. Many drivers do not stop. So you have to walk to a metro or bus, which is challenging for someone not speaking or reading Chinese. The bar/restaurant ran out of the Beijing noodle dish on both nights we stayed there. This is a signature Beijing dish, and as getting taxis was such a hassle, we stayed in for dinner, and was disappointed not to have this dish. There were also many old magazines stored in the hallways, making the place look somewhat untidy.
