“LOVE this place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 March 2014

One of my favorite restaurants in Beijing! A must go if you are in the area. It is in the Sanlitun area. It is a little hard to find because is tucked away into a alley. The food here is absolutely amazing! Also at a great price! I recommend the sushi esp! Also, the tuna on garlic bread is amazing as well. The service is great but it does get crowded fast so sometimes the food might be a bit slow. They also have wifi! Enjoy!!!

“A little bit of everything”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 October 2013 via mobile

This is one of the few places in Sanlitun that are not superficial. You can definitely find it as long as you manage to get through those tacky bars by the street. The decoration is of course Japanese style and it's next to an Izakaya hosted by the same owner (I assume). The service of Jazz Ya is not of Japanese style but more like a normal western restaurant in Beijing. The waiters and waitresses are responsive but not of the highest standard.

The menu is a mixture of Japanese, modern Chinese and Italian (maybe) dishes. Overall most stuff is quite delicious however not authentic for very picky gourmets. Besides, there is a bar where you can have something cooler during dinner. Average cost person is around 100-150 CNY depending on the drinks.

There you will see chatty people from everywhere enjoying the gloomy lights and amiable atmosphere. It's an idea place for friends reunions.

“Great secluded location, better than expected!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 May 2013 via mobile

Found this place tucked away off Sanlitun Road (see photo) while looking for a good bar. Set away from the street this place boasts great atmosphere, a good selection of jazz music and better than average food (compared to what we sampled the past 2 days). We ordered the Fried Eel and Tuna special rolls which ended up looking like 2 rolls instead of one and finished up with the Hot Cod Roe Pasta. What a decent surprise! The quality of food, attentiveness of waitresses, and ideal location entices me to visit again. Oh did I mention the broad selection of cross-cultural foods? $$$/$$$$$

“Epitome of Beijing?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2012

I've been going to this Italian-inspired Japanese place for more than 15 years. They've always had Japanese patrons and then a lot of foreigners but now young and hip Chinese also go here which is a pretty good sign. First off, the best Long Island Ice Tea in Beijing hands down. I'd say the Japanese soup noodles are inspired. But you'll find odd gems like rice omelettes and bacon and spinach pizza here, too and it is all good. Lunch is also a good deal. An amazing experience.

“Great neighborhood gem”

Charming, quiet location - an oasis of calm. Seems to be a place where friends gather to leisurely enjoy drinks and food. Inspired kitchen. Good ingredients. You won't leave hungry. Very reasonable prices.
