JieFangBei Square is a typical concrete Chinese square/walking street surrounding JieFangBei tower in the center of Chongqing's central shopping district. The tower is basically a hub at the center of a wheel, the spokes, shopping streets, eating streets, and malls/shops. The malls are average shopping for China. They are nice enough, but have a rather poor selection of stores compared to Western malls. There is a poor selection of normal stores, very high prices throughout and too many luxury stores catering only to the super rich. While visiting the square you can see the tower and central area of Chongqing, but overall it's not really that great. If your in Chongqing for a few days, it's a fun place to people watch, get some snacks, and browse around for a little bit but don't expect too much.
